9.1 PvP Gearing and why it is BAD

With the way the PvP gear has been changed they pretty much did separate the gear/activities though.

Past heroic raid/1800 you won’t mix gear. If you are mixing gear at any point it means you’re sub optimal.

What they need to do is have shared gear vendors with a universal currency and start making PvE gear scale in instanced PvE. It would make so much more sense to stop scaling open world (now we feel our gear progression) cap open World/PvP ilvl at a certain point and then let dragon slayers have their super gear in instanced PvE only.

Another option would be returning tier sets earlier, giving them insane set bonuses but only letting the bonus work in raid. This way you can have equal ilvl for PvE or the open world, but in the raid environment the sets would be a huge power boost.

TLDR is that they have sooo many actual options to make the game feel rewarding across PvE and PvP. They could scale all gear in PvP, have powerful set bonuses on PvE gear that only works in raid. Instead we’re getting the mess that is 9.1 because it was probably the easiest “fix” in terms of workload. Instead of a fix we want we’re getting iterations on Torghast, Soulbinds Covenant Specific Leggos (I’m sure this is going to help balance) and other crap most people hate about this expansion.

Hey any blues dare to come try and explain the absolute non sense that is 9.1 gearing?

It would look something like this:

We’ve read all of Bloomsday’s posts and we’re happy to see that the reintroduction of honor, conquest, the pvp gear vendors along with the current gearing system have all been well-received by the players.

Simple solution, nerf vers in raids/open world or completelly disable it if you are unqualified specialist

When a PVPer plays PVE it doesn’t have the same direct effect on another’s gaming experience as when a PVEer plays PVP. By definiton the PVP experience is effected a lot more. This should be taken into account but it seems it isn’t.

Bring resilience back. Isn’t that why they removed resilience in the first place? So PVE gear could be relevant in arena, because with resilience on PVP gear the PVEers get crushed.

Unrelated to retail arena;

TBC arena is in the process of being a carry fiesta as well.

They did bring resil back it’s called vers and if you knew what resil did you’d understand that vers is a copy of it. All that changes is that now vers can also work in pve.

Or are we just wanting to go back to all the complaints that pvp gear is total trash in pve?

Yes. Please remove the rating locked system. It creates large gear gaps making it difficult for new people to get into Arena, and makes gearing alts a pain instead of fun.

rating lock = tier gear. Tiered gear in a non tiered arena environment is broken. These devs equate rating brackets to pve tiers which are complete different animals.

Templates sucked because we had to get a high ilvl in PvE gear to be viable in PvP. And PvP felt like it had no rewards, that’s why people were so hyped for SL PvP gear because we finally had an incentive.

A lot of people including streamers were not complaining about “secondary stats” it was because there was no incentive and PvPers were being forced to PvE.

they should make versa the pvp stat

only works against players
1% more damage dealt
1% less damage received

replace versa with multistrike and make it to work with proc based specs or talents/abilities

If people want a real tiered arena they will have to deal with their gear scaled down to the arena rating they are playing at. If they want to give out gear rewards like pve they can reward gear along with the titles

Not everyone wants to only PvP though. I would like to PvP above 2400 and mythic raid/ m+ 20+. So I would like to be equally rewarded from both since they are give or take on the same level.

I want to be able to use gear from both systems back and forth. It is not “fine” that PvP gear would be weaker in PVE and vice-versa, since I will only have 1 choice. What if I want to do both contents? What about multi-spec?

Currently, there’s very little problem with the gearing. There is no problem with the current system, only baby PVEers that want to do 1 dung per week and kill 2 bosses and get the best loot. They hate the fact that there’s another way of getting gear too.

And I don’t want to hear “I HAVE TO GET this item from PVP or my char isn’t good”. What we HAD TO DO was in BFA getting Raden weapons for PVP.

The system is good for most players since most players do a bit of everything. The system is bad only for the #4everPvE-tryhards players who do not want to step foot in PVP and want to be on limit’s level.

oMG I can’t escape the rating gated madness that has gripped WoW HQ!

They brought more rating gates over to TBC Classic too now. :sob:
