9.1 - Pet costs 10,000 Polished Pet Charms

So, to be sure I get every Pet Charm I can, I have parked my 11 level 50’s at their respective BFA mission tables (don’t plan on leveling them up just yet) and my 7 level 60’s I log them out at night at the BFA tables so they can see if a mission pops for charms.

I figured on 18 characters, I should get plenty of charms. Plus doing the WQ’s that offer them, and I have some lowbies who can’t do the table missions yet BUT can get around the BFA zones and collect the charms from the treasure chests. I have about 4800 Charms at the moment, but with all my characters collecting them should get well over the 10k.

This is how I get a bunch of quick charms, too! Have you tried the wow companion app? I don’t even have to log into the game or be at the table, I can cycle through the characters on the app and send them on missions. It’s very convenient. I don’t do this for shadowlands though because the missions this expac are horrendous and I need the addon that determines my success chances lol.

I paid attention when I was grinding for a pet charm pet last week and got 600 charms one day then 500 the next but those were significant grinds. I know on the 600 charm day I could have done more but was tired of running the same battles over and over on different alts. I have 16 characters so I’m not saying this to validate their decision just offering perspective. The other day they had 3 WQs for over 50 charms total just in SL.

Shadowlands actively punishes players for playing more than one character. Especially in 9.1.

So no, alts isn’t really a valid answer.

And in what way does it do that? I have multiple characters over 220 ilvl and only 1 of them raids and i do 0 pvp. Besides, having a level 60 character just for the free mission table charms is great and then multiply that by how many max level characters you have. I take in roughly 150 charms a day across all my max level characters just from mission tables alone.

Maybe a valid comment for your kind of play but we don’t all share the same playstyle.

I have 16 characters in Shadowlands, ten of which are leveled and have ilevels of 200+.
I happily do missions and every cache on those ten, and don’t feel punished in any way.

I only have 1 level 60 but manage to get my level 50+ characters to WQs for charms. In a way I like how pet battles, in general, favor people with a lot of alts to farm with, nice to have an outlet for how I play, but I think it’d be too restrictive to make it a requirement for competitiveness.

I’m still new, I’m not trying to represent anything since I don’t know the impacts of my statements. I don’t mean to offend.

no it doesn’t, alting is difficult but you’re not actively being punished for it

you’re just salty that blizzard occasionally actually does not cater to bottom tier casual players like you, so in my book whenever you whine it means the game is moving in a better direction

Not even pet battles are safe from the incredibly cynical game design philosophy of SL

If moving towards death is better in your eyes, then sure. Casuals pay the bills

the game has been bleeding casuals the more it has steered towards casuals, pretty much mop and onwards

casuals play the game for two months after launch then quit, some come back for a patch or two but the game is paid for by long-term end-game players (being 4x lfr like plebeian-in-chief Maizou does not count as “end-game”)

My character cleared all the targets in zone. No frayed knot. Going back again.

But that is painful.

And let’s not get into farming the booties.

Happy

Already down to 300k on my server.

Last time I ck my realm it was still in 700K range …that was last week. I had 30K worth of pet charms brought one of my friends in my guild the pet and gave it too her…she works long hours as a X-ray Tech and really doesn’t have time to put into the game like I can.

The abilities seem middle of the road and non-synergistic. I have no desire to save my charms for a pet like this. Long gone are the days that I would spend that insane amount of time to collect the charms to purchase a recolor. if it was truly a magnificent model with mediocre abilities i would think about it, at that amount of charms. But, no. No thanks.

I loved Francois and the whole idea of him.

He’s a fancy chicken with a unique set of abilities (I use him in conjuction with a moth for lightning to kill the absolute crap out of things) that you get for having 1mill gold on your person.

I loved working with guildies to get him, and he didn’t actually cost anything. He also has a unique and recognizable model.

That said, I really like the baubleworms. I’ve begun buying the barter ones, naming them for the month their gem is birthstone for, and saving up pet coins. I have 2k now. It’s SO tempting to just go out and buy all the other coin pets I want…but I’m persevering. /grin
