I am now also getting this bad stutter when world quest announcements pop up or you enter a new zone and the title of said zone pops up as of post-maintenance (which I didn’t have before), as well as the map opening and closing. It is near constant running around zones.
Well the zoning/world quest issue which is pretty much the same sort of stuttering as this has been in the game since 8.3 and hasn’t been fixed yet so I wouldn’t get your hopes up.
This problem seems to have been fixed and removed many times in the last week, It seemed fine last night but not this morning.
Hey again all!
We appreciate your patience as we’ve worked on this. The issue is still under investigation by the QA team and developers. It’s a bit more complex than it seems, since the performance issue is related to how the map is actually loading/caching data. Because of that, if we fix it incorrectly, the map doesn’t work properly at all. That was why the hotfix last week was reverted. The ‘fix’ broke something else so the QA team had to scrap it and go back to the drawing board.
They’re actively looking to get this handled since we know that the map is pretty integral to getting quests done and finding your way around Azeroth, but we have to review some of the work that’s been done in the last few days. The Holiday weekend slowed down some of the progress, but our folks are back on the case and we’ll let you know once we get word that the actual fix went in so we can have y’all retest.
Thanks for all the updates so far so we could keep an eye on it.
Thank you for working on this for us smile…
TY for the much needed update Drakuloth! We really appreciate it.
I know you guys can’t committ to any deadlines or dates, but is it possible to give us a timeframe you are hoping for? eg by this weekend or early next week?
Thank you!!
having same issue, do you want new dxdiag? high end setup, same issues
Thank you very much for the update. It would be great if we could have regular updates until the problem is fixed, so we know it hasn’t been forgotten.
It would have been much better if it was fixed on the PTR!
Unfortunately I think many people, myself included, have given up reporting things because they seem to just go into a void. Personally my time seems wasted and nothing seems to get looked into until a large amount of people start complaining.
It’s very disappointing.
I’ve just updated the game, and the problem seems to be fixed. Ty, Blizz
Just what I was hoping to hear!
With the 9.1.0.39335 build of the game, the Quality Assurance team thinks they have the Map related FPS issues fixed - this time without unexpected side effects. Please use the Battle.net Desktop Application to update to the latest version and retest. If you are still having performance/stuttering issues specifically while using the map after the update, please let us know.
If you have FPS issues in other scenarios, this would be unrelated and you’d need to look for another thread related to your problem or start one of your own.
Nice, no more stuttering here after the patch
Same here, my game no longer freezes when I open the map, thanks!
Whatever you all did, please don’t unfix this hotfix Working great, also quests aren’t dropping major frames either now. Thanks!
Much better! Thank You!!!
OMG, thank you! So much better now.
yeah it seems to have been fixed, but did come back a few times
Edit, it happens when I zoom out and show all shadowlands zones only.
Just now relogged to get that hotfix and it fixed the problem! It’s like a whole new world now!
OH MY GOD ITS SOOO BUTTERY SMOOTH NOW, TY TY TY!!! It is now fixed!
OK, first, Thank you! The patch seems to have fixed the map issue and the quest tracking - HOWEVER, when I jumped onto the Escaped Wildling, my frame rates dropped from 60fps (fixed) to 47-50. Then, when fighting the big portal boss (forget the name) the portal animation made my frames drop again (like day 1 of 9.1). Oh, and wanted to add, I rode the Escaped Wildling yesterday, and there were no frame drops (before this fix)
So, I am at a loss. What settings can I adjust?
