9.1 includes more hatred and malice towards Night Elf Players (Spoilers)

Ok I respect your opinion sorry that it happened this way but not much we can sadly just go along.

And if more of the high elves hadn’t hidden away behind their rune wards and helped the humans there might never have been an Arthas death knight to attack them in the first place.

Arthas visits the barber shop. This is Shadowlands.

Hate to say it but Tyrande needed to lose. She’s become the very thing she hates most.

DO you not know the story?

Arthas just needed the Sunwell to bring back Kel’Thuzad. He had no desire nor inclination to kill BEs. They just tried to stop him from getting to the unwell. This is DRASTICALLY different than Sylvanas deciding I want to kill every last NE and maybe win the war. Not even close

You realize after 16 years I have over 50 characters across 4 accounts? My mains are usually Tauren shaman or druids, so quit it with the my human DK.

No if whe wanted to save her people, she could have fled like Thrall did.

Garithos said bad words. What he did to the BEs was drastically less than either the Horde or Trolls did to them.

The Second War

During the Second War, the high elves initially sent only token support to the Alliance, though Sylvanas’ older sister, Alleria, took her squad of rangers as well. Soon after, the forests of Quel’Thalas mysteriously began to burn. Sylvanas and her rangers set out to discover the cause when she came across both her sisters being chased by a band of forest trolls, which they quickly dispatched. Alleria alerted Sylvanas of the coming orcish Horde, and that it was the orcs who were burning Quel’Thalas with dragon fire. Sylvanas and her rangers raced to meet the Horde to trap them against the Alliance forces under the command of the paladin, Turalyon. The battle took many turns, but ultimately the Horde abandoned Quel’Thalas. Sylvanas stayed behind to hunt down any remaining orcs. Shortly after, the Horde was defeated, the Dark Portal was destroyed, and the Second War had ended.

Why do their souls need to be obliterated? If this stuff is true, I’m even more angry at how bad the story is than before. And Tyrande is one of my least favorite characters. But I’m not even a night elf main, and I’m tired of this. There’s no good reason for that if it’s true and I can understand the anger.

Edit: Also big yikes to anyone pro Garithos. Players I don’t get along with the most. /ignore straight up with that nonsense.

arthas did what he did because deep down he was always evil. he wasn’t a dk when the culling happened. that’s one of the worst things to ever happen in warcraft period and he did it without being a dk or under the effects of frostmourne/nerzhul at all.

Or if Sylvanas didn’t want to torture him instead of outright killing him

Hiding in the shadows, she struck Arthas with a venomous, paralyzing arrow she had crafted. Arthas, furious at her betrayal, demanded that she finish him. She refused, intending to make him suffer as he had made her suffer in undeath. She was about to begin her grisly work when Kel’Thuzad intervened, killing her banshees and chasing her off.[14]

It’s just bad writing from Blizz.

Alliance are supposed to be the good guys that take a beating but triumph in the end.

Except that never happens. They just continually lose and get somehow outsmarted by dumb orcs, trolls and undeads .

the alliance have almost never been the good guys. if that’s what you think then lol. i’ve alway been a dwarf before you “lol horde main” me. google xenophobia and then read the nelf backstory, for instance.

One could argue his soul was corrupted by Ner’zhul as he didn’t seem inherently evil until Strat. A choice like Stratholme could have been one of those impossible choices, a “all paths lead to ruin” and it was his best attempt to stop it.

Tyrande dying? where? Link me cus this is a HUGE bonus .

As you can see in this thread, Alliance players defend that regardless and can do no wrong. You won’t get through to them. Well, SOME of them. It’s an obnoxious high-and-mighty attitude that Blizzard seems to share these days. Also why many can’t take players like that seriously.

I don’t find any of this writing good at all. Would be nice to see the Alliance be antagonists for once, and for the Horde to stop being portrayed as continuously evil. This is why I wish we had the option to go neutral.

Note: I also hate Sylvanas. And the faction conflict nonsense in general.

1 - Tyrande dies
2 - Illidan comes back
3 - Awkward conversation goes badly, Illidan eats Sargeras, leads to next expansion.

The culling was not evil… they literally were all infected. The so called “paladins” wanted to leave them all to their fate to become the scourge and Arthas at least had the foresight to spare them that horror of turning on friends and family.

one of the appealing things to me about wow initially, and why i was alliance and not horde, was that it wasn’t initially “humans = good, orcs = evil.” in wow itself. not the rts games. as we know initially what happened. there is a lotr MMO we could all be playing if we wanted to play generic orc = bad, the game.

I will kill Sylvanas. I killed Nzoth on BFA. I swear I killed him. The cinematic shows how uber my Heart of Azeroth back then. I would do the same but by using my special Covenant powers that would be revealed on incoming patches.

This EXACTLY. I liked the nuance and that there could be variety. That there are skeletons in the closet for anyone. Point, blank, period, any “all of this one race is perfect” or “all of this one race is evil” is bad writing. As much as people here will try to defend otherwise. Unfortunately, it seems like that narrative they built is no longer here, and they’re playing by that horrible trope EXACTLY, time and again. It’s one of the reasons why I flat out stopped playing. I’m so tired of it.

Why people deny that both sides have done some terrible things, I don’t know. Alliance players (SOME) can pretend to have your perfect little faction. At least I won’t pretend to sit here and defend the rotten nonsense of the Horde (hated pretty much everything following Legion) and wish Vol’jin remained on his seat of power so we could actually get somewhere as a faction instead of what’s happened.
