Well, there certainly is a lot happening in that cinematic that I’m intended to have emotional investment in, but…eh.
Someone said this game is just a soap opera for these characters with menus in between and I basically can’t bring myself to disagree with that.

I chose Maldraxxus for the Lore and the Aesthetic, going against the raw power of the Venthyr’s Execute spam. In 91 I will no longer be a Dark plate lord I will be a bright colored cloth wearing fop that rides a mammoth sized housefly with spikes.

One a positive note, as Night Fae I hate the NF 9.1 cosmetic armor and am glad I won’t feel motivated to collect 90,000 anima to buy it.

One of my raid group peeps compared Anduin being allowed to meet the Archon to a trojan horse and well.

I don’t know, Sef still gets mail from simps so I like to think some of them are devs, personally.
The primary issue with the Jailor is that’s he was a functional unknown coming out of no where. Functionally, he’s a set piece for Sylvanas to get a thing because someone at Blizz HQ likely cried and kicked their feet hard enough to force it on us.
Also the bigger issue… Shadowlands basically relies on nostalgia of seeing old faces. We’re no in locations we have much are, lore or investment in since we all know at the end of they day, once we leave the Shadowlands we’re probably not going back.
The most telling part of this is that the lore which has generally been best recieved as things like Ardenweald since the implications of the zone have potential tangible effects for Azeroth going forward thanks to the Wild Gods, Ysera and others.
Ultimate issue with the Jailor is he is a huge. looming big bad. He’s just a huge, looming big bad who is so far away and let us rescue the lore characters we cared about rather than the cinematic spoiler.

I found it unintentionally hilarious how the Archon just sort of dramatically fell backward and died from a single leaping stab from a small blond boy
because the “plot” demanded it

So Blizz changed Arya to Anduin and The Night King to the Archon and we’re all in the same place and honestly, I just want more footie pj’s and party hats in this game.
i expect nothing and i’m still disappointed.
