9.1 further disenfranchises non-competitive playerbase

Never said the game wasn’t for them, I said there would be limitations. That’s just a fact. Reality is what you make it. It’s about choices and right now OP CHOOSES to not engage in any social aspect of the game therefore hamstringing themselves progression wise.

Why is this an issue?

Incorrect.

Make your own groups.

Incorrect.

This has always been the case, and is currently moderated by the fact that there are no longer tier sets.

They choose the best players so the group can succeed.

Get over yourself.

More powerful rewards come from more difficult content.

If you want the stuff, do the work.

This is only true for the new layers coming in 9.1.

As it should.

Nope.

How does the influx of overgeared teams prevent you from doing the content?

Answer: it doesn’t.

Good.

Also good.

Good.

Of the 10 sections which form your post, 8 of them are incorrect.

You score a 20%.

Could you share with us where you are getting your numbers from? How you reached your conclusion.

What game are you playing? Pretty sure it isn’t wow, cause what you described doesn’t match at all with my experience in game

If you’re going to try to dispute that Minecraft, LOL, and Fortnite have WAAAAAAAAAAAY more players than WoW rn, then there is no point having any discussion.

Literally google it.

I agree with your base statement regarding new blood, but LoL and Fortnite is highly competitive. Minecraft has it’s niche of competitive play. If you could say everyone is leaving for Stardew or Animal Crossing and the FPS genre was sinking fast, then I’d be more inclined to agree. But games that require skill are still high in popularity, especially the lower down the age scale we travel.

Like I said, there needs to be a curve where new players can come in and have fun and feel a sense of fulfillment. This is lacking in WoW rn.

Fortnite is like the perfect design of a game. Very easy to pick up and have some fun, but very hard to master with an extreme skill cap.

I’m not disputing anything i just want to know what you do. I asked you to provide it to me. Idk why were comparing multiple games against one.

So the Renown cap is being moved up to 80… any news on whether fresh/new alts will have to grind 1-80? Or will there be a catchup mechanic similar to patch 8.2 “Heart of Azeroth” catchup?

Haven’t had time to sift thru all the detailed/datamined stuff, so wondering if anyone knows.

If it’s “re-grind from Renown 1”, then yikes :grimacing:

Because I’m making an argument. I’ve seen a trend that the more brutal competitive games that offered nothing to new players died horribly in favor of counterparts that rewarded noobs.

Kyrian tech sims higher single target
Nightfae soul rot is slightly behind in ST and blows Kyrian away in Multi Target

Nightfae just has better soulbinds and soulshape is amazing.

I also will probably swap venthyr after the expac for the transmog.

Kyrian doesn’t sim higher single target. Not for me anyway.

Yeah because venthyr is cool, and it’s frustrating that they didn’t balance the covenants or just leave it as a cosmetic so we could be the theme we wanted. Also door of shadows really should be instant cast. Soulshape is…

Pretty much sums up my feelings on the matter. If you’re a player that doesn’t do challenging content then you don’t deserve the gear that comes from it. I don’t do mythic raids nor M+15s, but you don’t see me here whining on the forums for easier 230 gear. You already get gear/participation trophies from world quests and mission tables. Deal with it.

I don’t think the source of gear is a real problem. I think the real problem is the barrier to entry for people wanting to make the leap into high end play. Blizzard has done an absolutely pathetic job at creating a good on-ramp into high end content for casual /newer / returning players looking to make that jump into high-end play.

Everything I read stated it did but that might have been pre Pelagos nerf.

I agree. You should be able to choose a covenant based on transmog/mounts and then change abilities based on the soulbind.

Have each soulbind pick which ability you want tied to it give it an energy charge like current conduit energy

Remove conduit energy costs on changing conduits

Make door of shadows instant.

Well, but how much of that is because of the depth of content? That causes adoption curve issues. Issues that I thought they might finally kill with Chromie Time, but then didn’t implement it in the way I had thought. (#foreversaddened)

I think the “lack of fulfillment issues” come from seasoned players, not new. I’d argue that Blizzard has gone a long way towards smoothing out the new player experience with Shadowlands.

Edited to add: Just to note - the most oft cited reason that readers (those that identify and enjoying the act of reading) report for not reading a fantasy series is “it was confusing because too many weird names, so I couldn’t get past the first half of the book.”

Yep and that was also at much lower gear levels.

Eve online is probably the most “brutally unfair to new players” MMO in existence. It’s been around longer than wow, and still puts out more expansions, more frequently, than wow ever has. Some people rise to a challenge, while others succumb to groveling to the developers to make the game easier for them. Which one are you?

I disagree. You get ilevel 194 from doing easy content which is more than enough to start mythic dungeons or raids.

All those things are good, and would be a good start for the game. They could just make some system where ur locked into it for a given raid or something if they really want to stop people from hot swapping per fight. Honestly, I don’t see the issue. Just make it so you can change it on the fly like a talent.
