With Microsoft updates working for some, Blizzard maintenance fixing it for others, and some(like me) needing both to resolve the problem leads me to believe this bug is attached to certain graphics cards or hardware setups.
While I am experiencing FPS issues, mine are a little weird. My FPS drops when I just stand there doing nothing or use the autorun feature. If I hold down either the right or left mouse button (NOT both), my FPS returns to normal. IN combat, I can play just fine and itâs smooth as silk as long as I hold down either the left or right mouse button.
Ever since 9.1 release I have experienced issues of random stuttering and 20-25sec screen freezes. My system runs flawless on other games on ultra settings. Only with World of Warcraft do I continue to have these exact same issues. I have reinstalled wow, downloaded new adding, and reinstalled and updated all of my drivers. Iâve tried changing to directx 11, directx 12, and directx 11legacy The stuttering still continues. Hopefully a fix soon
Sounds exactly like the background program problem some have had. Things like browsers secretly active, and desktop wallpaper slide shows can cause that exact issue. The 20 - 25sec screen freeze doesnât sound like the problem this forum is describing.
I literally just posted about this issue with stuttering. It just started over the past few days. And its ONLY with WoWâŚ
Since last mainentance 03/08 the game is unplayable here.
Iâv cleaned pc, installed all the newest drivers, etc and etc and the game literally start to die and stutter from 150-200fps to 30-40. In Oribos is even worse, with 1-10fps sometimes, freezing the screen completely.
And of course, its only on wow.
With all those reports its obvious that the problem is with the game and not with us right now
I just did Windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/july-29-2021-kb5004296-os-builds-19041-1151-19042-1151-and-19043-1151-preview-6aba536a-6ed2-41cb-bc3d-3980e8693cc4
Still having the micro 1-2 sec freezes. This is exclusive to WoW; not 1 other game is having this issue at all. It only started within the last week.
What graphics card do you use? Also are the other games MMOs?
This problem seems to be related to how objects load onto your PC and MMOâs rely heavily on this function.
Iâm using a 1050 ti. After a few months of having this problem it was fixed after a microsoft update and weekly maintenance. I have a feeling this problem is brand and card specific.
Using an Nvidia 2080 Super; but I may have spoke too soon. It seems to be working perfectly fine now in a full raid and walking around town. So it may be fixed!
But as for other games: Ark if you wanna consider Ark an MMO, New World, etc. Those games play fine. max settings no less.
this thread is about a month old, and they have not even addressed it, fps issues, latency issues (im at 3200ms right now)
and as everyone is saying, ONLY IN WOW. I have been playing FFIV and Dota 2 fine All Day.
been weeks since 9.1 dropped and this issue is STILL PERSISTING.
micro freezes, stuttering, frame freeze all over the place multiple times in a minute. ONLY HAPPENS WITH WOW. Doesnât matter if Iâm in an instance, in Oribos, in open world. Happens anywhere and everywhere. Windows up to date, drivers up to date, etc etc.
I am also having an issue with 1-2 sec stutter in cities. I donât think I noticed it in the instance I ran the other day but it does happen in the city. I will try upgrading my drivers
- Reduce viewing distance to low.
- Take note of when and how many players load/appear onto your screen while you run through a city.
- If the frame stuttering occurs as they load in and the severity of the stutter increases with the amount of players loading, then you most likely have the issue described in this forum.
I still see the issue with viewing distance low. It does not happen in open world. Updated GPU drivers and installed KB5004296, didnât fix it for me.
Did the hard UI reset, my fps is fixed* sort of. Game is playable now but its still not as smooth as it was before, still noticing big dips in crowded places like capital cities with lots of players. Didnât have this problem in the past.
btw: I did notice that i get more fps loss when i have my nameplates on, this is likely related to the loading of the players as described in this thread but disabling all namesplates gives me back 10fps or so in crowded places.
none of this helped but i was able to swap to direct x 11 legacy and Bam it fixed everything, i have been told my lag i get is caused by the new box of everything or w/e in torgast when you select the auto loot system i cant confirm this as i cant unlearn itâŚ
None of these âFixesâ did anything for me⌠Still getting the random stutters and FPS drops.
Is Bliz ignoring this thread? Been going on since July 2 and no replies?
Still having issues. Renamed the Cache, WTF and Interface folders but issue still exists.
I too am still having issues. I tried all the fixes on here and it did not help me. Although, when I downloaded the Windows file that was suggested, it helped some.
I notice it happens when Iâm moving and things are loading. Like for instance, flying. It happened in Northrend and Ardenweld yesterday. Spires was almost unplayable for me a couple of weeks ago, but itâs mostly better now. There are a couple of areas in there that still give me slight issues.
Note: It got really bad a couple of weeks ago, in my priest class hall, my fps dropped to 20. After I would leave that area, about 10 seconds or so, it would be fine. In Spires, it dropped really low, around 20, and my friendâs character was skipping around the screen even after it went back up slightly. (Itâs usually around 80)
Iâm experiencing some fps drop with this current reset.
