Ya, Im playing a race from 16 years ago. I have every allied race unlocked and all but 1 I believe heritage armors, including the faction I don’t primarily play. I wanted the reward, so I put in the work (including before they removed rep requirements).
You’ll be ok. There are far larger hills worth dying on.

You are beating a wierd dead horse 1 line away from the part where I said I did do every available allied race “grind” in the game.
I prefer I earned a reward by completing the task required. It is ok to not have something if you dont think the cost justifies it.

There shouldn’t be any tasks required to unlock races. Period.
There were no tasks to unlock races before Legion and BFA, nor were there after.
It’s obviously an abject failure.
Put in the work, get the goods.

I think you mean, “you should have played Alliance in BFA and you would have done that normally.” Because I mained Horde in BFA and mostly dabbled around on Alliance and I just unlocked Mechagnomes and Kul’Tirans at the end of Shadowlands. Yeah, I was lazy, but since we can now raid cross faction I saw a actual need to have them available finally.
I didn’t come to the forums and complain about the grind for them, I just did it because it was something I found that I wanted at that particular time. Having said that though, they 100% should unlock them for everyone at this point. In fact, I think I read somewhere that Blizzard is going to unlock them for everyone soon ™.

I liked Drustvar. Stormsong Valley was alright. Didn’t much care for the other zone, can’t even remember the name of it. I thought the witch aesthetic of Drustvar was pretty cool despite normally hating the color scheme associated with the zone.
