As someone who likes the idea of unlocking races as a concept on paper. I agree.
It just feels bad for new or returning players and it doesnât even match the state the world of Azeroth is currently in.
But most important, nothing is a worse new player experience than being told that if you really want to play that Zandalari troll, youâre going to have to make a different character you donât like as much, level them and complete all the prerequisites, then reroll and start over as a Zandalari, or pay money for a race change and miss out on heritage armor.
Quests are the lowest bar of completion in the game since nothing like the atiesh or scepter of the shifting sands exist anymore.
Not at all. Not sure why you continue to attempt to make this personal. Thatâs rather sad.
In my eyes the argument that one content wall is acceptable and one is not is completely absurd. When the simple answer is that they should not be permitted to be in place beyond the expansion they were used within.
The entirety of the game should playable to player coming into or returning to the game.
And oh buy the way. One of the reasons this particular issue is so frustrating is because there was a quest added to the game at the end of the expansion that now disrupts the quest line from being completable. There is no reference to needing to complete the added quest line not originally in the chain so that players can continue the actual quest line.
From my point of view this is simply an additional reason to end the content wall for the allied races. Assuming you did these unlocks in the game during BfA new players will not only have to figure this out they will also have to accomplish tasks you did not to overcome this content wall.
This is all easily overcome from simply making the races playable and awarding Feats of Strength.
The only people who are for allied races continuing to be locked are the ones who think that other people should have to suffer because they had to
We didnât suffer. Just playing through the game casually and following quests completed all the reqs long before the races were even available.
I always level Cataclysm. And hit a TON of dungeons while leveling. Havenât gotten bored on over 50+ toons Alliance and Horde side
Fact!
By the way if you are still working through this crazy chain.
Be sure you pick up âA Dying Worldâ from the Earthen Guardian near Tradewinds Market in Boralus after finally receiving your Flight Whistle from the Uniting Kul Tiras Quest. Even though I have completed the game does not recognize it being complete. From what I have been able to find this "new " chain has to be completed before credit will be given. Thus making this chain even longer than originally designed.
How is it so bad if itâs your first time going through Kul Tiras? Just relax and enjoy the story.
I donât care about the story. Literally at all.
I just canât imagine playing an RPG and not caring about the story.
I just canât imagine anyone thing arbitrarily locking something as little as a playable race behind over a dozen hours and thinking itâ a good idea
âI hate doing thing.â
Continues doing thing.
No unlock is going to be fun if all youâre fixated on is the reward. Honestly that could be said about this entire game. If all youâre fixated on is the loot/unlock then the actual playing of the game is going to feel like a chore or obstacle and you kind of miss the point of⌠Playing the game to play the game.
Iâll go out on a limb and guess youâre not the type to read quests or watch cutscenes either? I started playing in late BFA, went back and got all the Pathfinder achievements and did the Allied Unlocks on both factions. It took me awhile but I ended up really appreciating the expansions I was playing through and having a lot of fun.
Yadda yadda appreciate the journey not just the destination.
I hate having to work to earn money.
Has to keep working to earn money
Itâll all be worth it when you hit your first dragon with a haymaker and watch them go flying.
Only the strong can play Kul Tiran.
Playing fat human in a video game = money
Gotcha.
Thatâs not what the comparison I was making.
The reward is money and Kultirans. I have to do something I donât like if I would like the reward.
A specious analogy then. One is a necessity, the other is not. Grinding for Kulâtirans is a choice you are making, from which you can walk away at any time. You clearly hate it, yet continue to do it.
