I don’t think they kept many classes in mind for these visions, not enough interrupts for spells that absolutely demolish my HP. Saw some people say it was significantly easier on warrior and paladin so im wondering if i should just switch to a different class to get it done.
Original visions were cakewalks for BM hunter and Havoc DH significantly more so than any other class. And a number of the elements that made it easier for them specifically, are still in the game AND the visions.
DH:
- High self sustain as melee via soul fragment healing without using an extra CD or GCD.
- Spec is built around focused cleave and high mobility, perfectly suited for visions
- High burst damage without sacrificing normal damage, and lots of CC
- Pathing… Stormwind, for example, allows a DH to skip 80% of Old Towne via roof running on the right side after killing the elite inside the entrance.
BM:
- having both ranged and melee damage/burst allows the hunter to target swap easily with minimal downtime, and extremely high mobility.
- Bevy of CC options to control mob packs and reduce casts
- short CD high bursts for those hard to reach bad guys
- decent survivability when played right
- able to take advantage of LoS tricks to minimize sanity loss and damage taken.
- pet durability and threat mean the mobs wont be attacking you, and when they DO die, they can quickly be rezzed. Creating a significant barrier to taking you out.
Can find people doing org and sw as BM, so its definitely doable
BM should be one of the easier ones to do it on, especially since, unlike melee, you can reliably DPS Alleria without stopping lol.
All clases and specs can do the 8 mask run.
Skill is the real issue.
Do well fed buffs typically extend to your pets? There’s a food called Ghastly Goulash whose well fed buff gives you a 2% HP per second heal in the Visions, which I imagine would go a long way for BM since if I remember right, that would be pretty much another mend pet going off at the same time if it does
There are a couple questions though: What ilvl are you at while attempting them? Are you using Soridormi?
Also I will say that a Tank Spec that knows what they’re doing does seem to have a much easier time in the Visions than other specs, but usually Tank specs are great for solo content in the first place
If you’re pulling the entire room as BM, stop.
The Nemesis mask solves any and all sanity problems. But bolstering the Nemesis (ESPECIALLY Hogger) is lethal. So make it small on your pulls.
Make sure your hourglass is maxed.
Clear out every boss once for the sanity res bonus. Do it maskless, obv.
It is very easy on Prot Warrior, sure. But if you have a lot of gear on your main it becomes a joke.
You’ll most likely die to oneshots over actual hp loss, unless you’re playing recklessly.
lmao.
i think its mostly a skill issue on my part tbh, 670 ilvl, maxed hourglass. some of the mobs in the mage quarter do a draining ability that absolutely demolishes my health and my pet is struggling to keep aggro. the elite in front of the mage tower and the boss itself is brutal. i’m sure if i beat my head against a wall for long enough i’ll have it down though
For the mage tower boss have you tried not interrupting the blizzard phases and letting the boss fully cast them while you wait safely in the doorway? For DoT classes the mage tower boss is much easier this way as your DoTs continue to tick on the boss in this phase (and you can use ground targeted AoE abilities on it). This also gives your cooldowns time to come back up for the next sequence of casts.
When the frost channel ends it always casts poly so you can interrupt that and feign the missiles probably and quickly burst it into another frost cast.
Not sure if your pet will attack the boss during that phase or not, I did it as a druid.
It is a frustrating run. But if you are constant you can do it. I did the SW 8 mask at the end and i was struggling a lot in Alleria more than Umbric maybe because she got a whole set of attacks that if you mistake she one shots your sanity, the eye also drains you too much if you are in a bad position or if you cant bait it to walls. And i did it with tank spec but not pala or warrior. I do not know how i will do 8 mask Rexxar on Tuesday as they say it is the hardest boss to solo.
It’s not too bad actually as long as you sit on your hands a bit, the real boss isn’t even Rexxar, it’s the boars. If you have any, spec into extra stuns or extra CC to deal with them, because you already do not want to damage Rexxar too fast and end up spawning boars before you’re ready for the next one, and you want CC as backup if you can’t interrupt one of their casts, otherwise Rexxar doesn’t really… do anything, just make sure to not walk into or get knocked into the OHKO sanity traps.
pet classes are made for 8 masks. Did it with my main lock. Alleria was weirdly super ez.
you can just flare the boss on his port phase and keep shooting by the way
don’t forget about misdirection.
Wow, that’s even better than DoT classes have it.
Feign death does work for some things that need to be interrupted and a PVP trinket is a nice back up too
Take it slow, use kiting tools and don’t be afraid to just hoof it backwards and work things out as the mobs chase you. Your pet won’t hold aggro, that’s fine, it’s not like the non pet classes even had one to begin with.
I got the Faceless One title back in bfa with the original visions. Omg i am not ready to do this again
i thought the pets would eat most of the bolstering problems and make it smooth.
do they die or something?
I did it as disc priest so no interrupt is needed
