8.2 is not fun

I think calling things a meme is a meme. The problem he admitted was that they took too much of the limited use but fun stuff away. Classes still play fine w/o them, but they have lost some of their identity. He also admitted they went too far with spec identity vs. class identity.

Just like him, you have no source you can cite. So…

I agree with literally almost all of this except I’d add even more criticism of BfA in general, especially pertaining to the story which is one of the biggest reason I linger around this game in the first place.

the affects only work in the new zones don’t they… they wont work in dungeons or raids.

and eventually people will go for the 430 gear over the 425 gear.

benthec gear is only going to be good for tmog… because by the time you get enough pearls to upgrade each one to 425… you’re gonna have heroic gear on mains.

even on alts you’ll replace the gear if you wanna raid/m+ with them…

the gear is only good for questing alts…very poorly thought out too since relinquished gear in the past could titan forge, include legendaries, and was ilvl relevant to raiding.

so yea… usless tmog or super welfare for barely used alts.

I’m going to jump in here: it’s World of Warcraft. I enjoy World of Warcraft just on a generic level. I like playing a character exploring fantasy worlds, killing stuff, and looting their bodies.

Specifically, I like Nazjatar. I like that there are naga and other creatures all over the place; this is Queen Azshara’s home, which makes it naga central. There should be naga and other creatures all over the place, and they should be ganging up on the landwalkers that their Queen has brought them. I like having the bodyguard and doing quests with him… it makes me feel that not only are we learning about this new race of beings, they’re also learning about us. And the general quests are fun.

Specifically, I like Mechagon. Well, I like the idea of Mechagon, I’ve never been a gnome or engineering fan. But I like things like the trinket you can load up with different punched cards, that’s super fun and cool.

Specifically, I like what they’ve done with the Heart of Azeroth and how it can be expanded with new and different powers. I like the Benthic gear, that it’s 385 and BOE so that I can supply a bunch of it to my alts, who can then upgrade it themselves.

Other than that, I don’t get caught up in gear too much. As long as I have good enough gear that I can hold my own in a zone like Nazjatar, I’m happy.

But! This is all just my own opinion. YMMV.

So we both have meme answers. No biggie. Ion probably didn’t say that they went too far because they probably haven’t had any meetings talking about the trajectory of the game. You’re right.

Yeah, some classes. People are acting like every class is dead in the water and is tortuous to play. Every expansion has a couple stinker classes.

Congrats, why the hell are you in this post for?

To cause trouble?

Yes, just playing on his words. The post he was responding too was a post about classes being boring. Classes will always be fine. If they make classes 2 button rotations, the class will still be fine relative to everything else in the game. So, yes, taking away too much makes a class boring. Identity is what makes a class unique and fun.

So, yes, classes are “boring” right now while they continue to run “fine”.

No, it’s because they took out old systems to redo them in their “vision” which just simply sucks.

Especially in a day and age where more than half of the things that come out of people’s mouths is sarcastic. I was born in the 80s, and i feel it was much of my generation that caused this mentality, but we know how to roll with it for the most part. A lot of has to do with tone, though. Being able to hear fun, or rude sarcasm has a lot to do with actually hearing.

It’s called basic logic and understanding audiences. Specifically the 80/20/5 rule, which can basically be summarized like this:

80% of players will never engage with anything beyond the game itself. 20% will actually bother to go online and read something about the game, and a mere 5% will be engaged so much as to actually bother to post and communicate with other players.

The people posting on these forums? They’re the 5%.

So no source you can cite… so…

Don’t worry, I point this out to the same people that say, “Millions of people left the game, Blizzard, you need to…”

I think I picked up some of Nobully’s (lack of) nuance.

Yes heroic raid level gear > easy to obtain world gear. This should not be shocking.

You can get to 420 and then work for 425. You know that maybe this gear is not meant for heroic raiders to replace their raid gear?

Um yeah? That is kind of the point.

relinquished gear was normal raid IL…

Or fantastic for catch up and non-raiders? Look at my gloves after 3 days of 8.2.

Sorry it was a joke about me calling you calling him calling it a meme a meme. I actually love how my BM hunter plays. Legion was the #1 best it had ever felt until I now got the new essence and healing on crit gloves. I love it. My only 2 complaints would be wanting base line camo back and old school stampede. Also I feel like my ret paladin is in a very good place. The only class I am not enjoying is my mage where “spec identity vs. class identity” is painful.

I feel the same way. When Legion was over, I was glad to finally leave all of that green fel behind and move on to something different, but now I wish we could go back in time. Things were so much more fun. The class halls were really interesting. There was better design, story, gameplay, more engaging, etc. I liked the hunter rotation more. BfA feels like a chore, bland and boring, very repetitive, lacking, and convoluted. It’s sad. I wish it was fun because I love the “world” of Warcraft, the lore and potentially fun gameplay being a mage or hunter or whatever, but I don’t want to spend any more money on this game because it’s not fun anymore. I hope the next expansion will be good, but I’ll have to really make sure before I decide if I’ll buy it.

I find Nazjatar to be interesting and fun to explore. I like actually having to fight off something that might have a chance of actually harming me rather than just -SW:P- and run off 'cause it’ll die in 2 ticks anyway.

I love the little Goblins with Fins. I want them to be an Allied Race! I like having one follow me around.

I like the new Pet Battles, they are quite challenging and are getting me back to an aspect of the game I enjoy but have put on to the side for a while.

I like that there are a ton of secrets to find and “trading games” to do for just fun rewards.

And I haven’t even gone to Mechagon yet… From the screenshots, it’s not the prettiest zone ever, but collections are part of why I like this game so much…they always give me something to do. I’m super excited about all the vanity items that I can get out there. (Kind of why the Strider thing irks me so much!)

Anyway… to quote you from another thread…lots of people like the zones and content in this patch. I see you don’t, but…

i have played this game since vanilla. Been there for all expacs, some good, some not so. I actually took a break for WoD, 3 months into it. Returned to the game. I have to say BFA felt unfinished, not the polished product **lizard had is customer base used to.
A few weeks before 8.2, i just played lo into game for the raiding. Don’t get me wrong, raids design was good. But what kept me in the game was not game play, but friends I have made in the game.
8.2 goes live and I was excited. Art dept. did a great job. Dailies seem more of the same, but it’s an mmo, right! The Dev’s have taken a step forward in correcting huge lack of incentives for recurring day to day questing, by encouraging exploration. No, not everything is at its best, but they are trying.
For my part, i can recognize the hard labor poured into it. But I’m at at a crossroad. I believe I am burn’t out. I log into game, do 3 quest and I just log out.
I believe I have to take a break, and wait for the expansion. give me time to recharge my desire to once again play this beloved game. Fun is what ever you make it to be. For me, it just ran it’s course.
thank you Blizzard and players alike for the many hours of entertainment , Until next time.

lol… i mean… the one insignificant change on the water strider to add mount equipment really isn’t nearly as big of a deal as the bulk of 8.2 content that’s meant to be fun and engaging for players…

the fact that you even consider those on the same level shows your immense ignorance.

Blizz defense force “8.2 is fine it’s a you problem”.

Everyone else " No it’s boring , repetative and poorly designed. It feels rushed. "
