I dont see any huge changes that scream a change in meta. Frost Dks might be around a bit more (we will see).
Essense’s = i have no idea how to judge those additions.
overall though, it looks like the same current game. Wondering what your thoughts are?

By the sounds of it, Ret and DH are getting buffed from essences. Guess I’m running some SP/Ret next season.
SPlay is probably the most boring arena I can think of.
The meta always shifts if not right away in a few weeks when they massively mess something up. Hell look at Rdruids right now vs season 1 where you couldnt find a single one. Disc s1 vs now. unholy s1 start vs now. You get the point id put all my points into a bucket for enhance arms frost dk aff locks etc (sorry mm hunter) since you know damn well there gonna pull something eventually that will attempt to get people to reroll when things get stale to rake in those bucks
However, overall it appears just subtle changes might have a swinging effect with some of the essences really helping out specific specs and maybe some new comps will pop up that will shake things up. The maledict change seems nice. Nothing really standing out as huge omg stuff though which kinda sucks.
Dhs will be able to have 100% uptime on meta instead of 50%. Fury warriors will get buffed massively by the cooldown essence although they suck atm so they’ll be midtier at best. My biggest concerns are assassination rogues getting a huge buff from the azerite elemental essence which gives another big cd for their bursts and fire mages whose increased access to combust from the cd essence probably will be the biggest buff of any spec. Oh and ret will become broken against melee, yet still suck against mages.
One nice thing about r druid being OP is in pve where they are extremely valuable lol, seems like theres also a druid around these days.

Allow me to doubt that.
Expecting this meta to “organically develop” into more free rating for dh dks and wws.
For many dps even after the nerfs, best essences will be blood of the enemy, the one from azshara, and conflict&strife
for dh all of those have the potential to be better than the one that gives meta time.
Getting ready for double ret freedoming each other so they can both have perma uptime on you.
Jokes on them I’m an spriest so they already have perma uptime on me.
