a 7-9 week grind would be understandable if this was going towards new ilvl, 415 gear.

You can but an azerite piece from m0 only scraps into 1 of the new currency. lol

If you get azerite gear to drop you can scrap it for residuum, yes. I scrapped a 370 piece from the storm’s wake emissary and got 12 from it. Someone in guild said they got 3 residuum from a 355 piece (though it was pvp).
This entire thing would not have been a problem if they just gave us valor point system back.

In 9 weeks it’ll be normal. in, what 6 weeks or so we have the new raid? We’ll be clearing normal mode week 1 with pugs. LFR is 370 which means normal mode will be 385. So after we’ve cleared the new raid 3 times (for 385 normal mode gear with a 5th trait) you’ll be able to buy a piece of 385 “mythic” gear that’s now actually worse than normal gear because it doesn’t ahve a 5th trait.
Maybe that’ll be an ok timeline once we start a new tier, but right now most won’t even have time to buy a single piece before the next tier hits and offers new gear to buy. And anyone who does buy a piece of gear will have it just in time to replace it. Because an azerite with 2 meh main traits will likely be better than BiS trait that has no second main trait.

Also drop residuum, and you can scrap other items for more.
So someone who does a lot of m+ cam farm these out in a few short weeks I think

No 355 or higher.
scrapping gives a pretty solid amount, you could double that amount easily
people are reporting that 370 gear scrapping is only giving around 10 to 12 dust, so thats 50 370 items, 355 giving about 3-5 so around 100+ few weeks not likely

this is bs, a 385 scaps into 35 a 340 scraps into 1 so you need to be heroic and mythic raidng and doing like a 20 in time to get 1 piece of gear before the next raid tier comes out

If you get 75 residuum from other sources per week that alone plus the weekly chest brings this down to 4 weeks for a specific 385.
I’m sure people are capable of getting much more than that
Don’t worry the system will work itself out and become reasonable whenever the 9.0 pre-patch is live.

385 is mythic raid lvl, what are you expecting exactly?

You can’t do calculations based on a single activity alone. Only getting it from a single source will of course take forever. But there are 3 confirmed ways to get it atm. If people are doing all three you could easily get 150-200 per week
Wait, they’ve taken away our ability to sell this garbage, too?
I have a ton of azerite gear, not because I was stockpiling to scrap, but because they keep tinkering with the azerite talents and I was waiting for things to settle before I sold the useless pieces.
