Right now, that’s ~9 weeks for one piece of 385 gear. If the amount of residuum awarded increases in proportion with the cost increase on S2 gear…we’re looking at a significant portion of the raid tier just to target one slot.
EDIT: Confirming before anyone else spreads misinfo…residuum does NOT drop from chests at the end of a key run. It is weekly cache and scrapping only.
But hey, at least we got a currency system now… 6 weeks until the new raid, 11 weeks for my expected time to achieve enough currency for 1 piece of gear. So basically, I won’t get anymore azerite gear for another 3 months. I miss tier sets
They took away tier sets, they took away legendary items, they took away the artifact talent tree, they took away glyphs, and they give us this crucible of light RNG BS, sell us that they are fixing it with a currency, and then time gate it in a way that it would take almost 9 months to get all 3 pieces. By the time we buy a piece, the next round of content will be released.

Did you seriously expect to grab one today or next week? You toxic m+ players are NEVER happy unless your dish is served now. I’m happy with my 60 and I’ll get a 385 piece in time.

It’s mythic tier gear, not heroic or normal.
With the stated goal being that we should be able to work a few weeks toward earning a piece of gear equivalent to the mythic plus content we are clearing. I get my 10+ (usually ~14/15) in each week. 9 weeks is horrendous and clearly outside of the stated design goal. A piece of equivalent ilvl gear may be fine every nine weeks for someone like you who only seems to do a 10 about that often…but for those of us that actually play the content…no bueno.
68 for a +12 10 weeks per piece for a total of 30 weeks …
I only got 23 residuum for completing a 9. Very underwhelming.
Don’t feel too bad, I only do +7s and I’m going to save for the 415 version, so I might get a piece before the next xpac

It can be done in less than 9 weeks. There are more sources of the currency for the azerite gear than just the weekly chest.
Remember than ANY epic azerite gear that drops after 8.1 goes live will produce the currency when scrapped. That includes gear from emissary, pvp, world bosses, warfronts, etc.

Yes, very serious. I was helping some PUGS that didn’t know the dungeon very well, we did not complete the dungeon in time, maybe that had something to do with the terrible residuum rate.
I would hate to think they’ve set things up so you have make the time for keys. That will make it useless to help out people with less experience, and more groups would require .io scores.
