Um not really.
It’d be closer to; you pay $100 for a ticket and the team packs their bags and leaves at halftime. Or just stops caring and plays but with barely any effort.
Yeah, same thing that happened to D&D. People who used to bully nerds back in the day figured out that it’s so much better if they can join the hobby and bully people from the inside.
So leave, what is stopping you exactly? Supposedly XIV is the greatest thing since sliced bread(which you know wrong opinions can be wrong, thankfully mine is always correct). WoW is fine even with the content drought. You haven’t done every single thing in this game, just leave. Why do people never realize they can up and go at any moment without announcing a departure.
I get what you are trying to say. 9.1 is taking too long and I just want it to get here so I can play it.
But
Let’s not forget that nobody forced us to keep subscribed for all of this time. I could have let mine run out back in march, when I finished all my goals in the game. Up to that point it was worth it. After that, it is just a waste, but it is my fault for keeping the sub up.
In fact, the best thing one can do to show one is not satisfied is to unsub, instead of continue to pay to complain.
SL is trash and paying a sub rn is insane to me. I cancelled my 6 month sub a month or two ago.
But, WoW is cheap entertainment. I’m not sure about this post. What should WoW cost? You pay that or more sometimes $59.00+ for a console game that you can beat and be done with. WoW still offers more vs those kinda games, imo.
The only thing I dislike about approaching the game this way is that we did pay for the game, most videos games I pay for (especially ones that are subscription base) I get a lot more new things as we play that keep me interested. WoW is both, we pay for the game and then we have to pay to subscribe. It’s a little bit silly to have to pay to sub and pay for the game and then decide I’m going to come back maybe to play it again someday because nothing new maybe.
Right now I’m okay because I’m doing something I like but I totally understand the frustration as well. It has been a very long patch!
I don’t think it’s wrong of people to expect a little more based on the past of WoW.
I keep hearing that the patch was delayed because people were working on tbc , I hope this isn’t true.
Also covid WAS a factor but I don’t feel like it’s been one for a bit now. I’ve had to work the whole time, everything functioning okay even if it’s harder to get done, it still gets done because it has too of I want paid lol.
But seriously props to the devs for the job they did in shadowlands and getting it out. It was truly a tough year for everybody.
WoW is 15 years old now. Working on the same project for 15 years, I would expect people to become more proficient at their jobs. But that doesn’t seem to be happening. Time between content drops is increasing and quality is definitely not improving (except for the art team. Those guys are beast)
Either complacency has a grip on this game or its being directly controlled by bean counters and spreadsheets. Or both. Because there is no soul left here.
Its like a post apocalyptic fair. The rides are there. The games and concession stands are there. But its all covered in ash and dust and the only life is a few crows picking at trash cans.
