7 months of no new content. Here is what it is costing you

It is approaching an ethical dilemma.

Shadowlands was released before it was ready simply due to the guaranteed release date of 2020. The resources that the release should have freed up for 9.1 and beyond instead had to go toward fixing all the issues of the release. If it had been delayed to where ptr thought it should we would just now be expecting news about 9.1.

If you are that bored go back to older content, clearly there’s things that you have not done from previous expansions. Explore a little.

It amazes me when people who only play a fraction of the content complain about lack of it. I can’t imagine how bad games would have been in the 80s & 90s if they were treated the way current players want with only endgame content. Super Mario Bros with nothing but Bowser fights, Final Fantasy where you immediately fight Sephiroth.

What? No, it isn’t. You can stop paying them.

Please not another wave of pre-teens waffling on about the ‘ethics of business’.

Game could go 2 years no new content and someone will still defend it lol.

Seriously… it IS unethical because they wont tell us when next patch is coming, so we remain subbed and not cancel sub until then. Its horrible. Blizzard has gone so off the charts is sad.

There have been many months where my $15 has gone toward older content because I had tired of the current and needed a break. I have plenty to collect and explore still. So yes even if they ended new content I would continue to pay my monthly sub probably until the servers were shut down.

Once again they had to release Shadowlands before it was ready because of an announced guaranteed release date of 2020. I doubt you will ever see a firm date on any future content (expansions or patches) until they are 100% sure they can meet that timeframe.

It’s not though. They never outline an update schedule. Maybe use a better word than unethical.

Like it’s bothersome, it irks me, it’s terrible, but there are no ethics involved here.

More developers get burned trying to follow a roadmap instead of taking their time. It isn’t unethical, you’re just being a troll.

So are you saying that you wont care if the update is bad / rushed?

“Blizzard! Just release something, anything! We promise we wonʻt complain!”

Yeeeeah … I donʻt think so.

No, I am not, obviously. I am being honest about my feelings of the way Blizzard is handling 9.1. just because we don’t agree doesn’t default me to troll.

Go back to 5.0, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0

How long after that launch did they come up with the .1 with all new content?

I would of been fine with them pushing it back to December or even January so we would of gotten something better . But since they didn’t and pushed out what we have now . Which looks like they really didn’t care back then , then why do they care now .

I’m one of those that think it is coming mid July or August .

I agree with some time in July. Hopefully. we shall see.

Unsub and problem solved.

TO be honest they should consider especially on expansion where we go off world maybe adding some side quests inthe x.x.5 patches related to the expansion that send us back to azeroth .

They don’t have to be actual story line quests but quests where what is happening has spilled over onto azeroth .

Say like with SL a maw sworn invasion is happening at the players class hall or some scourge have gotten off of northrend and are marching onto the wetlands .

Player A: “I am so bored with World 8-1. When will World 8-2 ever come out? This game has no content!”

Player B: “But you’ve never even visited Worlds 1-1 through 7-4 …”

For me? Yep, because I’m not paying for Shadowlands I’m paying for World of Warcraft :+1: All the stuff people don’t do or care about is my content  I would have more content if Legion scaling wasn’t trash :unamused:

You rrrrang?

On one hand, nobody is happy with the content drought, not Blizzard themselves, they alluded to it in multiple interviews.

On the other, $164.99 for hours upon hours upon hours of entertainment is absolutely NOTHING.

Seriously, people being outraged at that, have you ever tried to pick up any other hobby?
