At this point it doesn’t matter anymore what they do. Everything they did was a disaster. Every decision, every step - it really doesn’t matter anymore. Hazzikostas and Danuser need to be replaced with actual people who are “competent”, as awful as it sounds.

WoW will likely have its swansong with 10.0 because they will surely find a way to ruin the hype the moment people start finding another set of game design flaws which were purposefully added into the mix so they can say in the 10.3.5 patch how much they listen to the community.

What the developers need is not only a complete reboot of WoW with Zovaal winning but also giving the players what they truly want: A game which is fun.

Really? You are not expecting them to actually do work until after the holidays?

And secondly, they are supposed to be addressing these posts. That is the whole point of it. Ulness you think this is just another way to ignore people.

The Council posts are supposed to get Blizzard responses no matter what the response is. As in it is something they are looking into, or that is something they are not going to change.

The fact you are trying to justify them blowing off council member posts is exactly the type of mindset that keeps this dumpster fire still burning.

Correct. I don’t expect much during winter shut down. Other than the critical teams like the NOC, most folks are either already on Holiday or will be soon. They got a week off for Thanksgiving as well.

I HOPE once they finish inviting folks and spin back up it turns into something where they do engage quite a bit.

I also hope that people on the forums use the topics to springboard decent discussions here.

The rarity is the root of the problem in my opinion.

When the forums were first opened there was a lot of Blizzard engagement with the players. They would start conversations on game related issues or just to get thoughts on new features.

One that still sticks with me was a contest for best WoW machinama. I even submitted mine, but it was nowhere near as good as Illigal Danish and the likes.
My submission

I know it’s was a different and more exciting time, but that level of engagement with the community was awesome. I also doubt it will ever come back in the same way, but there’s room for improvement on their part.

Even nearly 23 year old Everquest has developers and CM’s participate on their message boards regularly. There is normal discourse, for the most part, due to the regularity of the exchanges. I’m pretty sure a large number of people posting here would like to see something similar start happening again.

Exactly. I know the forums go on the attack a lot, esp if someone is viewed as having any different status - and Blizz is the king of having diff status! However if they were here enough people would stop acting like they saw a unicorn and derailing things to get Blue attention.

They could also, you know, have mods who moderate in real time… That curbs a lot of behavior by just plain closing threads that have derailed and turned into bickering and whatnot. Vacation people who are really being instigators/trolls. Might even make more people less afraid to post real ideas.

The one thing I can say about the EQ CM’s is that they actively moderate, and they’ll close down threads before it becomes a back and forth micro-quote exchange like we have here far too often. To be fair, they only have about 80k customers so the work load is far less.

That makes a big difference. Every day here is kind of like Sunday. People get heated, things get derailed, just having someone toss out a lock, or a reminder can quickly cool fast fingers and tempers.

I know it is the internet and some of that is expected, but still.

I also agree that having a large player base makes it harder. I wonder what the actual forum participation metrics are though? I can check how many are in each trust level which gives an idea of activity, but not exactly accurate given it tracks per character and some people use alts or other Bnet accounts.

Well way back in the day. You used to see three to five blues a day. In-game it was not unusual to see multi-pink replies pop up in trade. i wonder why they stopped? Could it be the 800 they laid off to save money?

It’s my second “home” as far as forums go, and I guesstimate 50-75 regulars there out of the 30-50kish actual people playing. Boxing is pretty popular out of necessity at times.

When I think about it, the percentage of posters to players are about the same.

i didn’t expect this thing to actually be functioning until after the holidays because generally thats what seems to happen with non game update things.

are all the members added in already?

and i thought the wording was “may” not “will” reply to the posts. maybe i mis read it but do you really want non response responses or do you want an actual thought out response? :memo: :face_with_monocle:
further, just because a reply isn’t made doesn’t mean that it hasn’t been seen.
some things need other comments/ perspectives to chime in before choosing how to respond.

IN addition, have you personally found the time to read every single thread?

if you are working on a project for 8 hours and then go home. where in your free time do you read the posts? at lunch? do you stop development to read and then compose replies without taking the time to consider what was said?

shoot. just a random post on the general discussion can take 30 mins to write. in-between doing things. and that’s only observations, opinions and contemplations regarding some logistical reasoning. its not something that carries weight of comiting to do something.

I’ve had multiple posts of mine restored after they were falsely flagged. It’s not that uncommon.

They do a dandy job of making themselves look bad. Their PR, folks must be in uber crisis mode. Lawsuit after lawsuit can’t be good on anyone.

The CMs boss hates the community.

Well in my case i swear I’m flagged to never get TL3 again.

I can type out many responses in my hour lunch. There is one of me and many of them. 4 posts is a fart in the wind. It’s really simple do the following:

Confirm you read something.
Ask how they think they would implement that.
Ask for more details.
Express concern.
Use a emoji.

All of that is simple forms of communication that won’t get you in any trouble and take a minute to do. Better yet doing it helps your customers feel like they are being heard.

At the end of the day we want some basic trained husband nodding.

i can see how much trouble that would cause, lol. It must be frustrating to be a part of something and always have to take the role of seriousness. But i understand. my boss is the same way

That’s why I was so glad to gain TL4 rank. I’m more powerful than any MVP. My ultimate goal of taking over the forum completely is nigh! The Blues are next! Muahahahahahaha :smiling_imp:

Just restore Enhancement to where it was in the earlier days and you are set. Even doing some OT in lower level raids was doable up until the “big chop” at the end of MoP.

pats your head There there buddy, I promise I won’t walk on ya when 9.2 comes out… well I’ll try not to anyways…

But yeah, I suspended the attendance rule in guild for about half a month exactly for this reason… past that if nobody is on it’s open member season.

Lol, a TBCC thread got a reply before the retail threads.
