Is gold boosting against the rules? I don’t get it. I paid for a 1800 3v3 rival carry from a guy i found in trade chat. Paid in gold back in February. yesterday i got a 6 months ban for real money transaction. what…?
I bought it for cash in shadowlands and got a 1 month ban. That’s why I got it for gold in Dragonflight. Doesn’t make sense. What can i do?
So what you’re saying is you got caught again but now you’re just trying to feign ignorance and say it was gold? Pretty firm believer in the fact that you do something dumb once you’ll probably do it again and most people prove that right
I find it actually insane that players still pay for boosts pvp or otherwise. since ive played wow ive never paid for a boost. why? cause i know although im a below average player at the minimum i know how to bind my abilities and use OP addons. because of that ive been as high as 2400+ in arenas. and yeah i know 2400 is nothing according to these forums and considered below average by most rank 1s but to me it still means something. TLDR dont ever pay for boosts unless you just wanna have your account banned perma
My advice would be is to not talk about those things on the forums wether you bought it with gold or you RMT. Does not matter. More than likely the guy who was doing the carries was doing RMT as well & you ended up getting caught in between. I’m sorry about your 6 month ban but be careful next time & you run the risk if they RMT. At least it’s only 6 months & not a perma.
Yeah he either was doing rmt and you got caught up in it or you are lying about using gold. Orrrrr. You got banned for account sharing. It’s one of those three not the excuses you listed.
If you are innocent, then you can try appealing. Frankly @everyone thinking that he’s just making up BS, I don’t understand why anyone would come here and post in the forums lying about the transaction he must have in their logs. If they traded gold, it must be there, and there should be an unban revision from Blizz, given the service was not completed through an Escrow Gold Community organisation - which, as a reminder, is against the rules too since last year. So, best wishes to you OP if you are not lying.
Still, I suggest looking at the bigger picture. Assuming OP is saying the truth, it means the RMT scene is larger than we think if even gold services are pinpointed and caught, either by association, or correlation.
TBH I have to say though that if you really paid with money a SECOND TIME, I fully support this. In reality you should have been perma banned. This game is an MMO. It’s all about the value people give to an activity, achievement, or result that can be obtained by the gamers who populate it. Sliding your credit card and cheating your way to a reward is unfair towards the whole community you are part of. We’ll all be happier when this hidden economy will disappear from the game. I wouldn’t be surprised if gold boosting is also forbidden one day, the effect is quite similar.
To conclude, it saddens me a lot to see people often defending real money services or claiming to ‘‘just move on’’. I’ve read tons of these in the past two days as this banwave seems large (yay!). IMHO, anyone belittling the phenomenon or swaying the attention towards something else (! or even defending these activities) is fully partaking in this illegal behavior but no worries. You’ll get caught at some point.
Might have played with people who did a lot of rmt. Even if by some chance you did pay with gold, so did most of their cash buyers in an attempt to make it look “legit”.
