BFA is not popular at all. It lost 2 million + subs. That is the opposite of popular.
Thread number 124 on how Classic is so much better than retail and how people who don’t like classic are apparently just terrible casuals.
BFA is a great game isn’t it?
Dear Nostradamus,
As long as you’re looking into the future, care to share the Powerball numbers? We can split the jackpot, I’m not greedy.
That is less popular, it is still well more than most MMOs and will be more than Classic will have 6 months after it goes live.
This. I hope for BC servers. That will be great.
Better than classic ever hoped to be.
I really don’t see how people think Classic was so great. But to each their own.
You’re completely right. Lets hear it bro. Preach.
So, what you will do after they finish to launch all classic patch? Stay playing the same old content for the rest of your life?
Theres nothing hard in classic. It just take a loot of time to do things.
Raid bosses for example, literaly just dummies, without mechanics, with only very few exceptions.
i just see hipocrisis caming from classic supporters and faces of alienateds by nostalgia who wants stay stucked on the past forever.
It’s nice to have dreams.
This I don’t understand. If Classic does well and they then start adding expansions it ceases to be classic and ends up on the same road that current wow is on.
I don’t see how running two games that will end up in the same place at some point makes sense.
Expansions last for 2 years. That argument is invalid and doesn’t apply. Imagine only running Daz for 5 years. No one wants that.
That is why there will be BC or progressive servers. Also 150k+ players for the last 10 years, since wrath about, have been playing on Classic servers constantly.
There are people who would play it always.
They said that the expansions will be keep in line with the design of classic. With each expansion they made the game easier and easier. They intend to not including these changes, this way the leveling and gearing experience remains stable even into the expansions.
That is fine though.
We’re ok with the servers not being Classic once we progress on them. We’re fighting over semantics if we argue that “they’re not classic if they progress”. We like the philosophy and design of Classic. If the classic servers become progressive, but some stay Classic forever, everyone wins.
So they plan on releasing subsequent expansions but keep the same mechanics of Vanilla? So no flying for example?
Me too. I remember everything on that list.
Maybe. Ion said no to the idea but another dev actually said its possible.
This translated from game design language to the common tongue means that there is a possibility.
How? Bc and wrath had places designed around flight. They’d have to make significant changes to make them not
That is the question, there are areas that would need to be redesigned if flight wasn’t a thing. But they could address most of them with flight paths or restrict flight to these areas. Honestly, this would be their chance to remove flight and see just how the game would adapt without it.
I didn’t follow the discussions very closely because I wasn’t that interested. I had assumed that classic meant vanilla w/ no expansions.
If I was wrong and they intend on adding expansions, I wonder how they will decide what features to implement and what ones to leave out.
