there was no notice this morning.
I checked and even showed the wife and was cracking about how they moved up the reset time an hour earlier after DST happened.
At that point in time there was no 6 hour thing showing in the launcher where the weekly maintenance always is.
Just got in to the game …seems its up now …

Which is prime time somewhere and impacts players somewhere. There is never a time that is going to be best for everyone, esp seeing as Australia and the US are on the same Maint schedules but have opposite -ish night day cycles.
Blizz also lets people sleep unless it is an emergency. That way they have the full teams in office, not a skeleton crew on overtime with fingers crossed.

crap happens. lol. I wont defend these surprise things, but Ive been working on computer systems for 25 years or so and even with the petty crap I do Ive had systems go down for hours and days at a time over software / hardware issues.
Its irritating, yeah…but sometimes it just is what it is.
Now why were my graphic setting changed? This was suppose to be maintenance on Bnet not the damn game.

Their initial message was both not entirely right and not everywhere it could have been. The real question is why is this being done on a Monday and not during wow maintenance tomorrow?

Well, messaging aside, this was an auth server job, and tomorrow’s work will be a wow server job. Probably the people who would have done the auth server job tomorrow will be busy doing the wow server job instead.

THe only trolls are the ones making these thread knowing full well that maintenance happens because things over time need fixed.
The message was wrong. They should try harder to get the announcement up 24 hours in advance and right. The message currently on the launcher suggests the game itself would be down during that time period, which is not right.

I know someone who uses a ouija to communicate with earth 2, other aliens and even communicate telepathically with other humans but he might not be too well tho…

this solved my DC
Well, it was an update to the log in server system not the Wow Servers, I’d guess. And they probably want to separate the two in case there are issues, they can have them figured out before a server update. Much easier to isolate updates, cuts down on troubleshooting.
Honestly made me do a double take to see if it really was Tuesday lol.
But the thing is my settings shouldn’t have changed at all…this was a Battle net work not the game…lucky my settings are easy to remember what I set them at…
