Asmongold sitting on stream with a 6 hour queue trying to get in. Glad this is getting some attention.
Haha yeah, I tried logging in around 4:30pm EST, there was a 352min queue. 14.9k players ahead of me on Benediction. It’s now 10:07pm, 19 mins and 814 people ahead of me.
Same 14500 que for 360 min que on grobb. Week ago was no ques. People will try and flame the mega servers but this is a blizzard problem. Specially since my guild and many many others came here with blizzards free transfers at start of year. I can tolerate a que an hour to me max…. But this is getting insane. The realm pop was 14-16 k when the free transfers happened. So in a week we have doubled or tripled the population??? LOLOL
Flame all you want people but this is ridiculous. Stop defending this company for their incompetence.
I’d actually argue differently. Even though I am affected by queues like anyone else, this has turned from a Blizzard problem to a player problem. We knew for a long time Blizzard obviously doesn’t care enough about server population, health and longevity. They should have stepped in a long time ago to cap servers, help balance them etc etc, but they never did. Yet, people still flocked to megaservers like Grob and Benediction like flies to dung. We knew rolling on megaservers that we could be slapped in the face with a queue at any time, and Big Daddy Blizz would do nothing about it because they already displayed time and time again they won’t step in. Now we’re crying because we made a choice to roll on these megaservers to begin with known damn well, we could be faced with a queue at any point in time. While it was at one point Blizzard’s problem, and it somewhat still is, the players also need to take responsibility here.
Queue is (literally) over 9000 on Skyfury, the brand new fresh start realm… This isn’t even launch of Wrath yet.
and it just keeps getting better
On which server?
Like roll on a fresh start server? Oh wait, queue times 3+hours already…
Fresh will always have queues because fresh is overhyped.
I’ll repeat what said in another thread, who has/had the power to lock realms before the problem gets like this? Do players have that power to lock a realm, or does blizzard have that power? That is all
Why on earth would you make excuses for this company? There has to be a solution. The fact this many people are playing = money printer. Congrats your product is successful. Now fix it.
Trust me, I’m not making excuses. I 1000% see the queues as an issue. It’s just, I gotta play devil’s advocate here.
It’s like being in an abusive relationship. Let’s say I come to you all the time with various warning signs showing you that I’m in an abusive relationship. My lover has showed time and time again they are not going to change. Yet I stay in the relationship. At that point, is it still my lovers fault? Or should I take some responsibility here for repeatedly allowing it to happen and doing nothing to help escape the situation? My lover isn’t forcing me to stay. I can walk away at any point in time. In fact, I have better people out there for me, and they’re waiting outside my front door if I choose to leave. But I stay. Is my lover still completely to blame? Or should I be accepting some responsibility for staying in such a crappy situation knowing it’s a crappy situation?
So… victim blaming. Thanks for being up front I guess?
Anyone who tries to blame the players for a developer problem is a shill.
Sure if you wanna put it like that. I’m not saying they aren’t a victim, but if they’re not willing to help themselves out, they have to take some responsibility too.
Devs could’ve locked servers like bene, they chose not to. Pretty sure you can still make a character even if you don’t have a character on the server.
Transfer off grob then. With a name like tacotimex I’m guessing you don’t even rp. Go to pvp server not a rppvp server.
I’m not going to lie, I totally would like Blizz to step in and make servers merge or something. That being said though I totally took the free xfer from Grobbulus to Old Blanchy. Not because I really wanted to, but because not being able to play (log in when I wanted or had to) was getting old.
I know that’s simply not an option for people who are dug deep in their social atmosphere and have made a name for themselves on the server they are on however.
I think most people on these dead servers wouldn’t mind them being added to other servers. The only real conflict here would be having to change your name, for me this is not that big of a deal even though I love my name and am certain I’d have to change it upon merging.
Well, what caused this in the first place? The mind set of having zero competition, aka path of lesser resistance. Blizzard could have easily done mega servers but caved to the anti-layering arguments for “community”, look how well that turned out overall. The only exception to this was Grob, and I have no idea how they managed that, but they did something right that others didn’t. Maybe they didn’t care about min/maxing or parsing? Who knows.
We can appreciate the attempt at a comparison, but it’s a really bad one.
We are the customer. We love the product, but it’s a defective product. We know it can be fixed, but the company we’re paying is not fixing it.
This is imo the best mmorpg there is, but it’s broken and we want it fixed
