This guy I guess.

Looks like he’s pretty damn geared in most slots (lots of 639s), just not having a main hand weapon drops his ilvl to 589.

It’s a little bit misleading to just say “he’s 589”, but I guess paladins can get away with not having a weapon.

There have been a few tanks in past seasons who have done undergeared/meme stuff but you have to remember that they’re often top players and sometimes they’re saying like “naked prot warrior does a +20!” but might be playing with their usual team in full bis or something.

I don’t know enough about this story to say much though.

One thing about Paladin is that 1h weapon is not required to cast/execute their abilities (as long as you take Blessed Hammer - Hammer of the Righteous does require 1h), but a shield is. And that paladin is 3000 iO.

We are very strong though, not denying that.

Not enough that we need nerfed. Geebus people either need to roll a pally or leave us alone! LOL

why doesnt everyone just be happy that a tank with infinite interrupts (in a season where AOE stops no longer interrupt casts) is strong?

you wanna do second boss of necrotic wake without divine toll? be my guest.

I don’t like classes getting nerfed, would rather boost other classes. But i’m ride or die prot pal, if they nerf it, i’m still playing that regardless.

I’m almost always top kicks in key runs, I pride myself in kicking between a dozen and 2 dozen priority spells per run, plus bolts to help tanks mitigate, plus using cc to prolong time before a cast so CDs are finished, and using death grips and Abom Limb to grip casters and interrupt which I don’t think even gets counted as a kick on a meter AFAIK. When I’m with a prot pally I’m virtually always 2nd and love it because it makes us that much more likely to succeed even if the other 2 dps are just tunneling on rotation and surviving the mechanics lol or at least helping with the affix.

hard to believe that something with a lot of 639s did that in the last 12 hours. I guess the 589 in the title was just Clickbait.

Can’t wait to see all the unwashed masses trying to emulate this like they’re secretly a top tier caliber player too.

Definitely needs nerfed to hell and back. The issue is weapons and armor are just stat sticks to prot paladin right now. They have too many base reductions, stuns, interrupts, and immunities along with top tier tank damage and healing. They can literally take both a liquify and feast hit on heroic queen ( though the attacks after might kill them).
The paladin wasnt even running bis and had multiple pieces below hero.

“its fine he has lots of 639s”

Should go watch the video. You can see him doing nearly as much damage as the other tanks without his weapon equiped. That is a huge chunk of important stats just gone (weapon + enchant). On top of that he can’t parry anything.

Meanwhile BDK and brewmaster struggle to get into 10s even when they have them all timed.

Did you watch the replay or did you just come across and saw a low ivl plus no weapon Pally?

There is times where after replacing gear it sometimes syncs to 3rd parties showing missing gear but I did have the gear slotted in that game.

So he figured out the catch to pushing up his damage was to wear lower ilevel gear. It’s pretty ingenious if you ask me

Mythic doesn’t scale.

He literally said he watched the video. The person recorded it to prove prot paladins are OP and need nerfs.

There’s nothing special about a prot paladin’s weapon. It’s just stats. Someone doing 14s/15s knows how to squeeze what they can out of their character. Go wring your hands about something that matters.

The character in question doesnt do 14/15 and also doesnt raid.

Today is their first attempt to do one of those and proves how easy it is to jump from 12 to 15 on prot paladin.

Basically, if you can remove parry and a couple core spells from a tank and they’re still not taking damage, its a baseline spell/ stat issue

Its an alt made by an evoker main to prove prot is OP.

The only thing I’ve seen linked in this thread is a 3k io ~630 ilvl prot paladin. You’ll forgive me if I don’t feel like tracking down whichever specific piece of outrage bait you’re upset about.
