500: Internal Error

Can’t Resubscribe after JUST giving blizzard $25 for a race change. Can i request a refund and just wipe my hands clean of this company? I’ve tried everything you can think of to get my subscription renewed from different payment methods, removing and readding payment methods, clearing cache and cookies, restarting modem, using a different device. Is there anything im missing? I want my money back.

Have you tried purchasing game time standalone rather than as a recurring subscription? I’ve seen that get around such pesky website problems before.

Sure did, and for good measure just checked again. Doesn’t matter what I do i can’t play. I feel robbed.

Only other thing I know of that can cause this is system/router firewall weirdness.

You said you’d tried on another device – was that device a mobile device that wasn’t connected to your wifi? If it was connected and there’s a router issue causing this, it would’ve happened on a mobile device too.

If you haven’t tried it already, the last thing I can think to do would be to try on a mobile device that ISN’T connected to wifi – use mobile data.

Beyond that, I don’t know. If it hasn’t been too long since you did the Race Change (less than 72 hours), you can probably ask for a refund easily enough, although the response time might be pretty long if Blizzard is swamped with tickets.

My mobile device isnt connected to wifi and im still getting this issue. Is there a way to go about getting money back? i’ve spent over $100 in wow tokens and cosmetic items the past couple days alone and now the game is literally unplayable due to no fault of my own. There has to be some form of compensation for that. I’d love to have this fixe instead but i’m about to give up on that. I’d rather just wipe my hands clean of a company that can’t even get their billing straight.

Unless it’s several days, doubtful.

You’ll need to submit a refund request ticket.

Hm. That raises a question for me. I’ve seen cases where banks will block Blizzard purchases thinking they’re fraudulent if someone spends a bunch of money at once after some time away from the game.

Have you checked with your bank to see if they’re blocking purchase attempts? If they have online banking and send you fraud alerts, that’s the easiest to check. Otherwise, you’d have to call them.

That’s why i tried a couple different payment methods. The fact that i used multiple devices off wifi and multiple payment methods tells me that its either something on Blizzard’s end or it has to do with my account. Either way I just want my money back at this point, its not worth the hours on the phone waiting to speak to someone. this game is doodoo anyways.

In that case, this link will get you to means of contact selection. Just keep in mind that live chat and callback options aren’t available this early in the morning.

Clarifying here. There hasn’t been a call back feature for several months now due to people working at home with the pandemic. Live chat, is only open for a very slender window and only for certain things. It’s not even open every day right now unfortunately.

Ticketing is your only method, and please do be advised that ticket response times are upwards of 3-4 days at the current time. I do wish you luck wherever your gaming may take you.

Ah, thanks. That is unfortunate, but understandable given the circumstances. I’d heard they had people working from home, but didn’t know they hadn’t been able to maintain live support to that extent.

I’ve edited the inappropriate comments out of your original post. Frustration is absolutely understandable in this situation but we still would ask that you follow the forum Code of Conduct when posting to avoid losing the privilege to do so.

In addition to the other troubleshooting being suggested here, I’d mention that as an alternative to a subscription you can try buying blocks of game time instead:

Since you were able to purchase a character service, it sounds like your payment provider doesn’t have any issues with one-time purchases. I’m not sure what about a recurring payment (subscription) is causing issues but doing game time instead may work for you.
