Ive only been playing since 2017…august…and Ive had to delete 30+ characters just to have room.
I cant imagine how some of these older players are doign it if they dont just have a main and a few alts.
I love creating NEW characters. Replayability is what matters in any game since new content isnt forthcoming every day of the week.
in order to replay, I have to decide what character to delete. Which sucks because of the time investment put into it.
Not sure that even 100 character slots would be enough for someone like me.
I would definitely like this. I would even be willing to pay blizzard a fee to be given 50 extra character slots to my main account. I don’t want to maintain multiple WoW accounts just for more character slots. It has nothing to do with the price. It is just an unnecessary hassle having to switch back and forth like that.
This argument went out the window once blizzard made it to where every character over level 20 is forever stored in their database for restoration purposes.
No matter what those characters are saved in the system. It would be no different to how active characters are stored.
Ahh, a kindred spirit! Thought I was the only one. I can’t recall how many max level characters I have deleted at the end of an expac in preparation for the next but I know it is north of 20 as well.
They delete a lot of lower levels after a set period of time that weren’t restored, more character space takes up more space on their database and ultimately it goes to 60, then you want 80, then you want 200…
Times that by a heck of a lot of players who seem to think the character they played for a few minutes in the last 6 months is worth is somehow then you get a lot of space taken up that they have to account for.
Might not seem a lot for you, but it does add up for them.
A nice way to feel like you have a point is to call straw man and fallacy at people. Keep trying. You’ll get there someday to actually have a normal point to be had.

Under level 10/trial/55 DK/98 Demon Hunter: Can’t restore Level 10-29: 90 days to restore Level 30-49 or 99-100 Demon Hunter: 120 days to restore
Level 50+: There forever.

I can only imagine it is people who either RP heavily, or just character collect. They will make an Orc Warrior and get the transmog and aesthetic just right and then leave it that way as a virtual collectable.
Absolutely no way does anybody play the max amount of characters. Imagine doing 50 cloak intros. Or 50 sets of Assault dailies.
You are ignoring the fact that those accounts have to be paid for. So there is a reason to what this company does. I’m not against raising it. Especially if Shadowlands is going to be 7 or so hours to cap.
