50 Character Limit

As somebody with 24 120 warriors who is having to delete their old vanilla and meaningful characters so they can hit 42 120 warriors on one account, I would love to be able to have more than 50…I’d also prefer not to pay $30 a month to play the game the way I want to. Which is to level characters in groups.

There are now 19 (20) races in the game. If you make a male and female of each, that’s 40 characters. If you have a few extra or your favorite race, it’s very easy to be close to/at the cap limit, if this is how you choose to play WoW.

Edit: I can’t count, apparently. There are 21 (22) races, so having one male, one female, you would hit 44 characters.

If there was account wide rep I would have changed mains years ago.

I change mains every 1.5 months.

All of my 120’s are 1/2 way revered with reps for KT lol oh the pain

I openly admit I have a problem with alts. I have like 20 Druids.

Exactly. If they all had shared rep it would be no issues to just swap as you feel, kind of like another game that keeps getting mentioned here.

What’s your time /played total?

I have to agree that given the implementation of playable allied races they should up the count to at least 60…and while they’re at it, give hunters some more pet slots. One extra tab (up to 6 now) just isn’t enough, especially since they gave us Hati back. You need 6 slots if you want to tame all of her appearances. (Technically 5, if you’re going to keep one of them on you, but still)

Some of us used Legion gold to roll more toons - I was averaging over 4 tokens a week just off order hall missions and used them to boost more toons to continue the flood.

I am at 50 toon cap and now have to delete 110s to roll new toons. Now, I do NOT play 50 toons consistently, and I have at least 30 ‘dead’ toons now that order halls/garrisons/mission boards are all worthless…

But it doesn’t feel great to delete a 110 just to roll a new toon up for heritage armor. I still do it, because a dead toon is a dead toon, but meh, rather just have more slots - what’s the harm in more slots anyway?

The downside is that I see my dead toons as dead - why bother server transferring if i have to delete anyway? Blizzard is losing money over this one, for sure. Why not just sell us more character slots for gold?

Agreed, deleting a character you put your time in to sucks…I will say though, even though it’s really no consolation, even though you delete a character, level 75 or level 80 will hold it on your account forever. You can at any time bring it back. You may have to change it’s name, and like I said I know it isn’t the best solution outside of Blizzard increasing the account wide character limit, but I just wanted to put that out there. :slightly_smiling_face:

I have 50 toons. I don’t think there is a problem with 50 toons. There is a way to have 50 toons on a single realm. So the game design is quite ok with a single player having 50 toons.

People will always get stuck in to others about “having serious problems” by having 50 toons.

Levelling a toon takes at most 3 days. If you levelled the slow way and got 50 toons, that would be 150 days. If you have played the game for 10 years, and if it was the hobby you had, then it really isn’t that much time. If you have Death Knights, it is less time spent levelling, if you have Demon Hunters, even less.

I certainly know of people that have spent more time watching TV. If I make a toon to increase my chances at a mount, and that is the only reason for the existence of the toon, then I don’t understand why other people have to make such a big deal about it. Maybe they have control issues.

a class of each race that would be the limit for my 156 currently …
if you want something more crazy separated by each specialization and profession … that would be the limit?

Been a limit for a decade, complains now that they can be all on the same server.

What will they complain about next?

Here are 50 characters…

I don’t have a problem making as many characters as I want.

I’m all for doubling it with the way they keep adding races.
Can always go more too, I don’t mind.

^ x 1000000000 to the nth power. I have so many alts because of various reasons but I can tell you that everything would be totally streamlined if reps were account wide.

I’ve been playing almost since launch and haven’t had an issue with account wide limit (I’ve hit it, but just had to go through and delete like 5+ characters that were just level 1’s or whatever)

I love leveling alts, too. But I’m all for more stuff for the players.

i went a little crazy on alts when allied races have come out. then i’ve deleted a ton. most of my horde toons are 110 or above. 8 i think at 120. 4 max level alliance toons. if they sit too long i send the gold back to my bank toon and then delete it. i used to be a hoarder but have become waaaaaaaaay more aware of the limit now that i’ve almost hit it a few times. asked for some race changes for my birthday so i have level capped hmt and zanda now which has gotten me over the desire to have 6 of each or whatever on my account. lol.

You people who can’t comprehend leveling more than 1 character are going to be a real drag on any company that needs you to work on more than 1 project at a time. I feel bad for your employers.

I think 50 characters is more than enough.

I also believe that the overwhelming majority of WoW players think 50 characters is more than enough.
