3/8 accounts randomly suspended

Hey there. I was wondering if there is a live chat option or a phone call option to reach through to support since I’ve read the horror stories on Reddit, amongst other places, about the support via tickets.

3 out of 8 of my accounts were just randomly suspended for 6 months while I was playing on them, with the reason being “Use of Bots or Third-Party Automation Software”.

I know this is what everyone says, but I honestly have no idea what could have caused this. I have had one of my accounts actioned before on Retail for this (fairly, I might add) and learned from it, and have never done anything like that on Retail or Classic since, on any account.

The only thing I can think of is yesterday one of the WeakAuras I had loaded went kind of haywire and was auto-inviting people based on keywords when it shouldn’t have, though I’m not entirely sure if that falls under the realm of automation since Leatrix Plus and other addons like that exist.

Any help would be fantastic, thank you.

Not for appeals no. There has never been a live chat or phone option when appealing an account action. You can only put in an appeal to have another set of eyes look over their findings.

You can put in a ticket here:

Neither options is what account appeals are for. They’re for account issues, like you’re unable to log in because you forgot your password or can’t remember what email you used. Along with they’re for billing issues, such as, payment issues with cards.

You can file an appeal! There should be an option in the message you received with the notice you had your accounts suspended.

Live chat and phone are only for billing and tech support not for account actions.

Are you multiboxing 5 warlocks outside Grom’gol (near the flight master) doing PvP by any chance?

As the others mentioned, Sylsumsdmt, you’ll want to submit an appeal ticket to have this reviewed. We do not handle appeals through the call return or live chat, sorry.

I can’t speak to any particular addons but they tend to operate within the LUA and wouldn’t be considered “Third-party automation software”.

Very rarely - if ever - is it from something that happened recently. They take the time to investigate thoroughly before applying bans and suspensions, so this could have been something from weeks or even months ago.

Were you multiboxing by chance?

Multibox in and of itself is not a violation of the rules. However, the rules around input broadcasting software to help facilitate multiboxing (Push space bar and all boxed toons jump for example) were changed.

The number of accounts you have, along with the third party software is where I came to this theory.

Nope. My mains are on Thunderfury (with one or two on Westfall) Alliance.

If it’s something from the past few weeks, there’s really nothing I can think of. The amount of accounts would probably be suspicious sure, but that doesn’t really explain why only 3 accounts were banned, and with those 3 being my main ones.

Nope, never used any key broadcasting software (or hardware) on classic. For reference, here’s a picture I took not too long ago showing a friend the setup I had going on (with stuff on my desk edited out for privacy reasons):

Had to login to a different account since this thread wasn’t accepting my post on my other account. Weird how that works.

Anyways, to answer a few questions:

Nope, I have never multiboxed (software or hardware) in Classic.

That doesn’t seem right in this particular case. One of the accounts is one I haven’t played on for at least a month or even month and a half or so (it’s the one where I was working on my rogue twink). The other two have been played fairly regularly (DMT runs on my hunter account, and raids and dungeon boosting my twink rogue on my warrior account). All 3 were banned at the exact same time, and none of the other accounts were. There is absolutely no possible way anything I could have done in the past several months (or ever) would have been considered botting or third-party software on all 3 of these accounts for the exact same reasons, let alone a single one.

Nope. For clarity sakes, here’s what I mainly use the other accounts for:

This is a picture I took to show a friend who was curious how I was summoning to ZG island and DMN at the same time. As you can see I have my 2 main summoners split on my main monitor, and my clickers split in quarters on my second monitor. None of this involved any sort of input broadcasting software or hardware.

My posts keep getting deleted or flagged - guess because I’m trying to post a picture for clarity purposes.

Anyways, I’ll type it out again.

Nope, never used any software or hardware input broadcasting in Classic.

So that’s the thing. The account that I’ve been working on the most recently is the one where I was in the process of building a 19 rogue twink, which is kind of screwed now that I’m banned until post-serpent shoulder changes. Anyways. All 3 accounts were banned at the same exact time. The account with my rogue really hasn’t seen much play recently except for this as those toons are on a different server than the one I’m maining now.

The other two accounts I have been playing on regularly for various purposes - one has my 60 hunter who I use for DMT buff selling (infrequently, only started this the past few days) and the other has my warrior who I’ll run some raids on here and there or boost my rogue through dungeons (ran deadmines 15 times recently).

My point I’m trying to make is there is nothing that really connects these accounts together (except that they were the only 3 I was currently logged into when the suspension went out) and I just don’t understand how/why all 3 would get banned for the same exact reason at the same exact time. Playing devils advocate, even if I was botting on one, the other two likely wouldn’t have been touched right? Of course I wasn’t, but that’s my point is that there’s no reason all 3 accounts, let alone even one of them, should be suspended.

I was trying to post a picture to show you my setup, but I think thats what is stopping me from being able to post. Basically the picture is of my 2 monitors, my main one being my 2 level 20 summoners (one at DMN, one at ZG island) split in half so I can see both screens, and my other monitor having my 4 clickers (2 at each location) split in quarters on my other monitor. I had it setup this way so I could manually do everything I needed for this exact purpose. I get 8 accounts looks suspicious, that’s why I was going out of my way to make myself look more “human-like” such as talking in general or LFG between summons and stuff.

Can anyone else see my posts? I’ll see them for a minute and then they disappear. Trying to post on a different summoner in case my other one is shadowbanned or something.

I seen your post right before this and I see this one as well. Not sure about the previous ones though, as I wasn’t alerted to those.

Looks like they all appeared when you posted, very weird.

The problem was, Sylsumsdmt included a link that our systems flagged as spam so that a moderator could review it. Then your Kowalsski account quoted the majority of that post, including the suspect URL from the same IP. Basically, since you kept posting it from the same location, you looked like a spammer.

When a post disappears, it is generally not a good idea to continue to post it otherwise you get caught in a loop where the system will prevent you from posting at all since it now considers your behavior highly suspect.

I noticed it, so was able to clean it up.

Apologies, I was trying to link to an image but the ’ ’ around links has never seemed to work for me - thanks for clearing that up

Well now I just feel dumb.

Thanks!

Sorry if someone already asked, but do you use AutoHotKey? I was looking at your screenshot, trying to figure out what the second to last icon was on your windows taskbar.

As mentioned previously, I have never used any sort of software or hardware input broadcasting.

That icon is “Run”, a Windows program. AHK if I recall correctly is a purple icon with an H in the middle.
