I’m not a fan of pathfinder but as someone who did the Timbermaw grind back in BC I have to disagree OP. That was a terrible out of the way grind. At least pathfinder is just part of the progression of the game. Well mostly. Mechagon is out of the way and completely unnecessary for progression but you can just do the one daily and get 850 rep a day.
More like a week
It was a hyperbole. People take everything you say so literal.
Mechanon rep wasn’t too bad but nazjatar was a horrible experience without flight. Even now I hardly ever go there. Just feels like a reskinned broken shore with the mob density of argus.
Not sure if you are being sarcastic or not - Thats like, not even 10 days of doing WQs.
Probably because the majority of players that aren’t going to do the flying grind aren’t doing dailies.
Which have sadly become the games focus.
What once was used as filler content between actual content- is now the most vital non-raid content in the game, and is encroaching on being as important as normal if not heroic raiding.
Yes they did about three years ago, for both the feathers and the beads. You will be almost honored by the time you finish up the starting quests and then drop quests. Then you have the turn in off potions and cloth. I will give you the benefit of the doubt that you didn’t mean to call me a lair.
You clear each zone in one hour. Took me 6 days of clearing each zone a day… so 12 hours of game time. Sounds like a lot I guess
I mean yes, that’s actually a bad scenario. It means most of the other 63% left.
I wouldn’t call 2 hours a day, every day, ultra-casual. Average for the people still around, but a little too tedious to be ultra-casual.
Yeah, it was boosted HARD. You can very easily get Timbermaw Exalted in a day now – I ended up doing it one day while messing around in Kalimdor waiting for early dungeon queues.
Put like that, it sounds like 67% of the playerbase gave up and moved on to other games.
You mean one of the worst reps to farm. Kill 346839764389 thong-bears for random drops of necklaces to turn in - and get 5 rep. It was such a horrid grind during vanilla, I just went to like Honored to get a tailor recipe and stopped…til they fixed it some or I could one-shot them. Miserable rep grind.
Same for Steamwheedle - still not exalted with all of those. Got 100 and quit doing that headache inducing grind.
At worst it should have combined rep from the zones, or required only 1 or the other. Out of spite we got an 11 month wait and 2 reps.
I see quite a few in the new zones without flying. They’re the ones who drag 20 mobs into the rare fight while trying desperately to get a hit before the kill.
You obviously don’t remember doing Timbermow.
Pathfinder 2 took 2.5 weeks.
Actually it only took, at max, 2 months, probably not even that. We had a few months of waiting, but that time wasn’t spent completing the requirements.
can confirm. have done this.
Thankfully, I have flying now and will no longer be bringing half the zone to the rare fights
Imagine playing a game for fun…
Most of the people I see are flying over me but I do know of people who’ve left WoW for the time being and won’t have pathfinder.
( I may have it by September but I’m in no rush)
Just for all those people that love to say we are all lazy for not having our flying mounts I’d like to explain how you hit a point where getting your flying is a complete pain in the backside
So let say you dropped out at some point for what ever reason, let’s also say the class you levelled up first didn’t work out for what ever reasons and then you rerolled and came back because the reviews started becoming more positive
The list of things to do is insane; first of you have to catch your gear up. That might take a day to get to a semi reasonable level and you can do LFR and not get laughed at for attempting to do a mythic 0
Then you’ve got this neck to attempt to start building up that you’re miles behind on, you need to start doing the other reps too
If you didn’t get patch finder part 1 done you’re so far behind it’s really hard to catch up
With the ever growing list of things you need to do
Then you need to do an obnoxious list of chores to get path finder part 1 done on top of part finder part 2 which leaves you with hardly any time to do the things you might enjoy in the game
If you’re working full time you get to log into the game and do some chores to try to catch up your neck first off before you can start trying to get your flying mount and this pretty much excludes you from time dedicated to doing other things like improving your gear
Path finder part 1 should let you use your flying mount at 150% speed or what ever it was and part two should unlock the full speed of your mount
I just started grinding on my main for PF2 a week ago. Mechagon quests aren’t bad with the daily 800+ rep quest and the jet packs, but Nazjatar’s WQs enrage me when I have to shovel my way through a massive dump pile of mobs to do each WQ, and then find out my reward is a stingy 50-75 rep. I’ll be switching to doing only the Nazjatar emissary and just wait longer for flying. For me, it’s not the amount of time it takes to grind, it’s the effort and reward ratio in Nazjatar specifically that’s been making the road to PF2 unenjoyable.
