all these threads and you pick one thats 3 months old. dunno what that says when a half asleep person notices this and op who necored it doesnt.
For many people, 25,000g is not dirt cheap and by the 3rd tab at 100,000g we are talking real gold numbers. While you and others may have large amounts of stored gold to splash around, not everyone does.
I have saved and used my gold to put towards my sub - being on a pension, every dollar helps. I’ll only be able to afford the first two tabs for the forseeable future, and I doubt I’m alone.
Honestly, Unless I can name my warband and then wear my warband name above my head like a guild tag, I’m not ditching the guild or the too many tabs I already have.
I am absolutely dreading trying to get reacquainted with all my junk in that bank. Might be time for a big ol’ fire sale.
I feel that. I’ve spend a couple of hours sorting through multiple characters’ banks and two sets of storage guild banks. Its usually a chore at the end of an expac but this time, with the warbank, its been chaotic.
I know a few people who would because they’re grievously irresponsible with money.
Noted.
Yea, I’m not sure if it’s changed or not, but I’d love to know on the tool tip what expac these mats go to. I do not have the memory retention to recall what all these disenchanted dusts and crystals belong to, expansion wise.
and I really don’t want to resort to pen and paper to really sort it well. lol
OK I’m lying, I love inventory/supply management/logistics, I would somewhat enjoy cataloging the mats.
That’s literally about a week of dailies/world quests at max level. Not prohibitive at all. (For reference, those ‘dragon racing’ world quests give about 1k gold EACH.)
If you play a healer/tank, the ‘in need’ bag also has about 1k gold per queue…
I’m not sure I have it in me to do an entire week of dailies at X dailies a day, not even knowing how many X equals.
I’m just going to sell some stock and buy a bunch of coins, maybe a mount, possibly a few more tokens, and then some of the other stuff that annoys people to read about getting off the cash shop.
Fair. I was being a bit hyperbolic here, there is always the occasional whale.
Buying a token and selling it doesn’t add gold to the game though. The person buying a token is just moving their gold into another person’s pocket. Gold isn’t just magically appearing on the servers.
Not to mention the idea of a WoW token isn’t a new idea and its implementation was for 3 things. 1) More money for Blizz, 2) Players who can’t afford a subscription every month now can, 3) It’s a direct counter measure to 3rd party gold sellers since Blizz adjusts the prices on Tokens in the AH and it can compete with Gold Sellers prices for Gold of similar amounts. (A lot of games did this before Blizz and more are doing now, it has a ton of benefits for the company and playerbase with little to no downsides)
I don’t really get how this is a counter point?
We can compare pre and post token and its not been a net positive. Things like boosting and sales always existed but it absolutely exploded with the token. What was a small niche activity usually tied to big seasonal rewards like CM modes and mythic mounts becomes so common people started buying normal raids.
My reply was simply addressing who I replied to about their comment saying “Gold sinks can never be a thing as long as Token add gold to the game”. Nothing more, nothing less.
You can get like 10-12k gold per day per character in Dragonflight right now, doing daily quests and dragon riding races.
Inflation is still happening, it never stopped.
Well, the good thing about it is that enchanting mats are really only useful to an enchanter and they can show you on the crafting tab what expansion they come from.
I like keeping things organised too. I was doing a list of all my crafters in a Word document so I could figure what I need and had, and I realised I had 5 cap level miners. Do I really need 5 miners? Dunno that I’ll have time to deal with one miner, so with the sharing of the warbank, Ill probably switch some of those over onto other crafts.
They really shouldn’t… I know the whole crafting system rework was a way to try and get tokens out of raiders.
The issue is when you monetize a currency people notice gold sinks more then when its just a game currency.
I am going to dive into this today, maybe. it needs doing. Otherwise I’ll just keep compounding the mess.
When I was playing Starfield, I kept a small book next to me and would log my resources and map out my logistics for spreading around the resources. Great fun till you have too many resources. unfortunate. So much potential.
Besides the bottom feel out of Tokens on Tuesday when the patch hit…will take awhile for to build back up again… Current:299,049… 30 day high: 356,012, they went up 2,876 today…
Kinda hope they crash. When they fall to 100-125k at a new expansion launch I usually grab some game time
Lord I wish they go back to the 30K range we use to have…I really loaded up my sub time back then…lmao…I use to pay my sub with tokens but once they got too over 75K…I stopped and went back too pay with real money.
I made a lot of gold back in WoD with my Garrisons and my alt army. I had like 2 years of game time from tokens. But now a days I am back to being poor so the last 2 years I had the annual sub. I remember tokens didn’t drop super low before Dragonflight so I think I only bought like 4ish months of game time with gold. I try to save $ when I can, but 125k is my absolute max I will pay for a single month. I don’t really spend gold, but I don’t really make gold either. I am probably only buying 2 tabs for the Warbank
