Oh boy, do you see crime in your own community and say “Not my job”
How can you report them when it doesn’t work i’ve tried countless times. The right click doesn’t work,I even disable my addons ,reboted the game and it still doesn’t work.
Some people are really bored and have no common sense with their money.
I ran into this group last night as well in the exact same spot. There must’ve been 30 at least. I reported like 10 of them and then just got tired of it. Copy and pasted same info on each submission.
I do know blizzard is doing something about it, I just don’t know what that something is.
How do you do it when it doesn’t work ? Please explain, how come it doesn’t to some and others can .Not saying you’re lying but it just doesn’t make sense .
I targeted them. Then on their image/icon I right click and select report and then cheating. Then submit text. Not sure why it doesn’t work for you.
Yes we can report the crime to the cops but what if the cops don’t care. Do we put on the uniform and be cops ourselves?
Where do you draw the line?
Anyone been to the Iron Docks entrance lately?
Can find a couple hundred of them there sometimes.
I’ve come to the conclusion that most of these are a semi rogue operation to buy up tokens on the AH to keep the AH price high so people are more likely to buy tokens at the store and less likely to pay for their subscription with tokens from the AH.
Make hyperspawns non-lootable, non-skinnable, etc. would be one way to nerf botting.
The other would be Blizz actually caring and coding automated checks. “Oh look, character ‘efklafarwer’ looted 40000 pallid bones and has been logged in for 48 hours straight? How strange”
It’s a bit of exasperating to to see so many bots clumped up in a single spot like that.
They’re so obvious… training a machine learning model to pick them out automatically probably wouldn’t be that difficult because there are so many tells embedded in their behavior. If Blizz took a few of their tooling and engine engineers who don’t have as much to do between expansion releases and put them to work on an autonomous anti-bot system, I bet the results would be surprisingly good, and even if it had a few false positives initially that’d work itself out as they further train the machine learning model.
Yes it’d start a bit of a cat-and-mouse game, but as the bot detection model is refined, bot makers would need to make their bots increasingly human-like to evade detection which gets more and more difficult with each step, increasing development costs and eroding the much of the farming advantage that bots enjoy currently. Eventually bots would only be on par or a bit better than an efficient and focused real player and much less lucrative (and less damaging).
My point is this is their problem to solve and for a company of their size they are just cutting very low labor costs for the sake of being cheap. There is no technical reason more GMs can’t help here.
Yup… at the end of the day, it DOES impact many players and facilitates a bannable offense.
They aren’t ‘stealing’ it but they do sell it.
Take off your tinfoil hat. I just got a second in-game mail today for another group of bots I reported. Keep reporting and move on.
I have a friends being banned because of reporting bots. Bots have a reaction that anyone stop around them will be reported. Over 10 people reported, blizzard will ban you immediately. No argue, No human double check. Their community manager just copy and paste every response. Shame.
Bots dont use keyclone software.
Huh?

I don’t think blizzard cares much about them. I Dont know why, but it feels like no action is being taken when imo the bot problem is worse than ever before
I’m glad, but WoW:C is my main game atm, and I can still stroll through Badlands and see bots from almost a year ago that I reported every single day that I farmed. Exact same path, down to the instant 90+ degree turns. There’s basically daily videos of fly hacking bots on a lot of servers. lol
But I’m happy they got someone for you.
I reported two yesterday in Revendreth.
It’s pretty bad when, at first glance, I see a druid in travel form and think “oh look another bot”.
