I’ve never pvped before, I joined an arena match, and it was 2 players on my team, but then when the game started, there were 3 players on the enemy team.
Is this a normal occurrence or just a bug?
Skirmish I’m assuming? One of your team just didn’t accept the queue
It’s pretty normal for skirmish unfortunately, people queue up and then don’t accept.
Only happens in skirms because they don’t matter. It rarely happens in rated because people care.

yeah happens a lot in skirms
usually mostly due to queue times i assume
people forget or tab out after sitting a 5 minute q they dont care about and miss q
1v2s and 2v3s frequently happen in skirmishes. If you’re really unlucky, you might even get a few 1v3s.
I don’t keep track but I wouldn’t be surprised if 25% of skirmishes have missing players.
It’s annoying because Blizzard can change the skirmish queue so it functions like dungeons or islands — nobody zones in until everyone accepts the queue pop. Blizzard doesn’t have to develop this from scratch. They can just copy and paste existing code.
Dont worry its just blizzard giving you the opportunity to rise up and 2v3 the other team…

This is a pretty bad experience for a new player lol. Not even sure if I wanna do these any more if there is a chance that the teams will not be even.
Get a friend or two and queue up for some skirms. They don’t matter so don’t stress and have some fun with it!

Wish they would do like the do for pvp islands, make sure everyone accepts before the bg/skirm/rated even starts. To make sure they all have even teams.
