It makes little to no sense being a healer unless you queue with players who are really good. That’s why I said, good players tend to not want to be healers.

The word you are looking for is agency.
As a healer your agency comes from identifying your win conditions, their win conditions and who your “carry” is.
This is what lets you have control of games. When to shut down their windows and when to ensure your own
Also, this is highly inaccurate. It would be like saying that season 2 glads should be able to get 2400 every season because they were 2700 then and 1900 now.
You’re basically asking for free rating, which they already do give out.
But in your opinion, what is the line drawn where free rating should no longer be given? When you hit your desired goal?
What happens when players who are lowered rating than you beg for handouts too? It devalues your achievement.

This already happens between seasons in the last 3 expansions, the titles and rewards have 0 value no matter how you look at it. You can pay for a carry via gold / token purchase or you can play during a season where it’s finally viable for a normy to get the only achievement/reward worth striving towards in pvp because of inflation.
OR
A literal miracle could happen. You find a team in LFG and they’re normal non toxic people. They’re on the same schedule as you and you get to grind 1000 games in a season slowly improving til you get those 100 wins and it feels epic to get that mount finally. GL with that tho.
Side note - morning lfg queues with the Chinese are poppin and so fun

All of those things can be true. Mmr itself is just a system and it doesn’t entirely represent your skill lvl, although it tries.
One day you can not be on top of your game and lose rating because you’re not playing like your usual self. You could also have a great queue session and be playing at a rating higher than you normally do. It’s a system that encompasses your overall ability to be consistent and pairs you with others of relative skill.
Agree totally, within the context of the current season. The problem is the rewards are consistent with rating and not necessarily indicative of skill without having to do extra steps such as determining what season was it, how many people got 2.4, etc.
I’m not saying we go back to % based glad. I’m saying they ought to ADD a new reward for % based that’s not just R1.
2400 - 100 wins = Temporary Gladiator Title & Mount
Top .5% = Verdant Champion title
Top .1% = Verdant Gladiator title
Or something like that
Edit to add more text to the wall: Adding more rewards like this, maybe even some more cosmetics after Duelist, 2400, 2500, etc would bring people back to playing 3s a lot more. There are 3 rewards right now. Elite set (participation in the end of a season). Gladiator (buy a carry, play an inflated season, or get lucky with lfg partners if you dont already have a team). Then the impossible R1 reserved for absolute demons and full timers.
oh true. blizzard definitely dropped the ball on how they’ve handled rating in a lot of seasons. it can totally be improved.
the only issue i have with more rewards, is that it tends to have a diminishing effect.
it’s like when you eat your first slice of pizza, the first one always taste the best. after a couple more slices, youre less likely to buy or want more pizza.
same thing with the pvp sets. a lot of people just go after that and then they’re like “i really dont care about pushing any further.”
This really doesn’t do much with the current structure of things, although it wouldn’t hurt.
I did that with 8 classes in solo shuffle in the first month and a half of this season and I didn’t bother to push further on anything except ez mode DK because there’s nothing to push for. 2100 enchant is hit or miss (usually miss) and then you get no gladiator mount.

Root cause of that for me is ease of finding teammates and whether or not they’re too toxic to deal with. My 1 time glad push in BFA was a traumatic experience joining discord with the most messed up types of people with massive egos on an old boomer game.
Maybe we widen it to 1% just an example. I’m sure a WoW think tank could come up with some riveting ideas that I can’t think of
No discord glad push is the way to go. Pump some music while playing melee cleave and blast. Also shuffle is nice for guaranteed 2.4K for the cool weapon mogs (2H sword is freaking sick)
