Its quite funny they picked this moment in time to adjust for conversion rates while most currencies are at very weird point right now due to, elections and covid. Probably shouldve waited 2 years to adjust if for that reason.
This will for sure cause people to re-evaluate their entertainment spend. This game isn’t just competing with FFXIV it was just an example. It is competing with entertainment dollars spent period. Any change to that structure will affect people and some will choose to do something else inevitably. Will this affect me personally no. But its not a good look and it will cause some lost subs I guarantee in this economy. Its just straight up dumb on Blizzards part they should have at least waited until next year when Covid is in the rear view mirror. Do Blizz care when the total pop of Canada is similar to the state of California on its own? Probably not but its not a good look and they should care.

Yeah I don’t know if I could continue playing if they up it in NA just from an ethics stand point. With the expansion we’re already paying the price of 4 AAA games at $15 a month for 1 year.
I personally am sick of people using the pandemic as an excuse for everything. Everyone has hard times in life. You cut back on things you can’t afford. If WOW is one of them, you must be in pretty dire straights, but that’s a you problem.
That’s the wrong way to look at it. How many hours do you play WOW each month?
Even if you raid log thats a minimum of 4 hours a week. Or 16 hours per month. That’s less than a dollar an hour for something you enjoy, AT MINIMUM.
For your comparison, I loved the FF7 remake, but it’s only a 40-50 hour game tops. Less than $1 per hour and i had to wait YEARS for it.
That train of thought is a slippery slope though. Just because you play it a lot doesn’t mean you aren’t technically being scammed.
Yea, as it is now, as soon as i pay, i go in and cancel so it doesn’t charge me at the end of the paid game time. It’s a few clicks, so its not a huge issue, just need to make it a habit so you don’t forget. 
Ppl already do with ubereats and such.
You can go pay $30 for some popcorn and a movie, “well right now you can’t,” but that’s 2 hours of entertainment tops.
