Its more like Bud Light vs an IPA. Both are beer, but have their own ideals that go into the product. Both are different flavors of an MMORPG that focus on their own niches and goals.
A WoW player may not like FF14 because of its goals/design, vice versa for an FF14 player.
There is overlap.

I agree. FFXIV is a good game. The two aren’t comparable.
Which no one is disagreeing, but a connoisseur wont compare Bud Light to an IPA…simply because the goal of both is vastly different.
Can one be better than the other? Sure, but its all based upon taste and desire.
And a lot of people sub to both, and play both.
Ehh…its fine. It gets very boring post story-telling though. I’ll be honest, the most recent dungeon was very lacking compared to HG and the story was not that good (ARR plotpoint lol).
My worry moving forward for FF14 is how do you top ShB, especially with your game dev now focused on FF16 along with SE’s famous legacy of mismanagement?
I really hope we dont have another Stormblood, because that may kill the hype Shadowbringers brought.
And nothing you’ve said thus far in this thread explains why people can’t compare FF and WoW. A comparison shows the differences and similarities. That’s all it is. There’s no reason one can’t compare the two games, or any two games.
Simply, I dont believe that are comparable because the games have two different focuses and two different goals in mind when it comes to game design; and it shows when you get to the endgame of both games.
That at the same time, whether that is good enough reasoning for you to think the games should not be compared…isnt my prerogative. I am offering a point a view, not a negotiation.

Yea I dont get it. Its not about the cost or that its 50 cents a day or whatever. Its the fact there is no actual rationale for an increase in this economy. most canadian banks even the super affordable ones like tangerine etc. issue visa/debit cards these days, and those work just fine. its what i’ve been using for my subscription for the past year without an issue.
Someone has to pay with real money so we can enjoy the free ride , I have not paid to play WOW since WOD paid for subs and collector editions and all expansions with Gold. And I am no hardcore player I play maybe 10-15 hours a week the trick was having lots of alts
