Afternoon all,
Reviewing recent data, it has become sadly and unfortunately clear that Grobbulus population has fallen critically low and its time has come. Players have overwhelmingly embraced the much larger PvE realm and Grobbulus has lost players at a vastly increased rate. Looking over the forums and social, it seems that the majority of players are now asking for transfers. Reaching out to some community members and larger guilds left on Grobbulus they also confirmed this stance.
We have now opened Free Character Transfers from Grobbulus to Pagle (this can take up to 15 minutes to be reflected in-game), previously available transfers to Grobbulus have been closed, and new character creation has been disabled. The realm itself will remain running, these transfers are not time-limited and will remain available so please take your time and plan/organize moves with your guilds and friends.
Grobbulus has been a great source of community and memes over Classic’s lifetime and a big thankyou to everyone that has been apart of it, but we are hopeful you will enjoy the vibrant and significantly more active realm of Pagle that awaits you.

sucks that Grobb is moving directly to Pagle and not given its own connected realm like everyone else was, now they may not even get to keep their character names

Any updates on FCM for Maladath-Anni? Still unable to transfer Blood Elves and Draenei and level 1 bank alts.
Every other realm got a virtual “connected realm” with the whole merge deal, why can’t Grobb get one?

No. and I just want to remind you as well as everyone else reading, that we were told that ”They didn’t have time to figure out CRZ for classic”, despite it working fine on Era, and that grobbulus, despite being low-pop, STILL has 3 layers which were never turned off. We still have layers active from back in Wrath.
All this, only for blizzard employees to lament on twitter how sad it is that Grobbulus died.
You killed it.
All of you.
Shame on everyone for still funding this constant re-regurgitation of the game we loved.

Communication is extremely poor with Classic. Who knows how far these progression realms will go for? Same with Anniversary. It makes these versions not very-MMO like. For example, why farm special mounts if this version may not be supported in a few months?
MoP was a disappointing failure.

Why would they lock up their ONLY PvP server… They love to find new ways to ruin the game, no pvp on retail because of warmode and now this. Cool. Bloodsail Buccaneers has an actual Low population why isn’t that server shut down? Just be honest and say you hate PvPers.

Pretty lame to ignore the Grob community when we pleaded to be a part of the group of realms that were getting free transfers to Pagle-connected servers almost two months ago, only to throw us a 33% discount on paid transfers (which every PvE-minded person bought because we knew since P1 of Cata that Grob PvE was going downhill fast).
It feels really bad to see this news, honestly, but I guess you guys did make $70,000+ out of the whole ordeal. Congrats.

dang that’s crazy, what happened? when the transfers were first rolling out there was a bunch of posts from Grob players saying how this would be a huge boon and Grob would be the premiere server that everyone would flock to any nobody wanted to go to Pagle and play PvE

I had hoped they’d do what they did with Bloodsail and would leave the PVP realm open for those who wanted to stay (the raiders being held hostage were not holding up the pvp community and would not be missed) but I’m thankful for this update and looking forward to Pagle.
This is months late, and acting like you spoke with the community or were paying attention to feedback is honestly insulting.

I’m surprised that they didn’t offer free xfers to both Pagle and Bloodsail, if only for the last few RP holdouts on Grob.
I’m unsurprised that we were only offered free xfers and not a connected realm, bc that’s the laziest/cheapest option. I would say that I’m disappointed Grob doesn’t get a connected realm, but realistically I’m more disappointed that it came to this in the first place. Better than nothing I suppose?
