20th Anniversary Event - You guys cant do anything right can you?

yes i know, i said that. the 6 are from weekly quests

someone already linked it right above me but here you go again, i guess

https://www.wowhead.com/news/bronze-celebration-tokens-20th-anniversary-event-currency-how-to-obtain-and-347599#comments

Your not. But players also aren’t entitled to having every single item from every single event

Those six give 3 each

For repeatable sources, they mostly come from weekly activities with a daily included:
Completing the Daily Anniversary quest Celebrate Good Fun! Celebrate Good Fun! grants 3 every day.
Completing weekly events in Khaz Algar grants 1 each.
This includes the “weekly chore” activities such as Special Assignments, Theater Troupe, Awakening the Machine, Wax Collecting, Spreading the Light and the Severed Threads Pacts.
Completing Weekly Quests in Khaz Algar grants 2 each.
This includes the weekly Khaz Algar meta quests such as Archives: Seeking History Archives: Seeking History and The Call of the Worldsoul The Call of the Worldsoul, as well as quests from weekly calendar events such as A Call to Delves A Call to Delves.
Completing 20th Anniversary Weekly Qursts grants 3 each.
This includes the returning Anniversary Weekly quests The Originals The Originals and Soldier of Time Soldier of Time, as well as new quests for the 20th Anniversary event in specific - Chromie’s Codex Chromie’s Codex, An Original Path Through Time An Original Path Through Time and Disturbance Detected: Blackrock Depths Disturbance Detected: Blackrock Depths.

since you seem incapable of reading. that’s 6 from weeklies. 3 from the daily. and 9 from one-time-only quests.

Only until you hit 100 then they literally dropped from everything. Every boss in every time walking dungeon, World boss etc etc

They will become quite farmable after the first couple weeks and this event is going to run for a long time so of course it’s freaking time gated my friend they want to keep you playing you’re not meant to get everything right away.

It will be just like remix things will be hard to get at first and then you’ll have more currency than you know what to do with

maybe i’m the one misreading their confusing wording, it says the weeklies are X each. so each individual weekly quest gives those? that’s not very clear and they never give a total, had to scan the comments for it. so you can earn 57 tokens in the first week and 48 afterwards, every week

i mean yeah that’s what people are complaining about. and seriously stop editing your comments fifteen times

I’m not going off Blizzard’s wording at all I’m going off the most recent build on the PTR which is the release candidate.

There’s an achievement for hitting 100 coins and once you hit it it makes them drop from all other sources. So getting that first 100 will be the hardest part. Which will only be a few weeks if you do everything

Is it per account or per character? I think I saw something as it is at the account level.

Seriously drip feeding to stretch it out I guess. Gotta keep them players logged in over the holidays.

From the article
Developer Insights: For the Anniversary event, we want these epic new rewards to feel both special to players and well-earned. To that end, we have worked to create a rewarding system that should help players earn their first Tier 2 set in the first 2-3 weeks depending upon their play style. We know that there are a lot of people who are excited to earn more sets, if not all of them. To accommodate this, we have both discounts and increased abilities to earn currency that kick in after those early weeks (detailed further below). This should allow players who play through the event regularly to have the ability to earn all thirteen of these Tier Sets and many if not all of the other new cosmetic rewards tied to the anniversary. If you run out of time this year, don’t worry, we will have the sets available from the anniversary event in future years.

So the devs want to use the “more meaningful” excuse. Drip feeding a currency isn’t meaningful in any way.

This is what happens when you design around spreadsheets to ‘force’ players to hit engagement and subscription targets rather than design something enjoyable and engaging that drives engagement and subscription metrics because the content is fun.

On the flipside, there isn’t really any good reason aside from compulsion to get everything after one run of a recurring event. Since every anniversary from here on out is going to include this stuff, I think it’s fine to not get everything the first time. I mean, there’s still stuff I don’t have from the Darkmoon Faire and that’s what, over 10 years old now? But it’s always there for me to work towards every time the Faire’s in town. This stuff’s the same way along with all the other holiday events.

A lot of players expected a coold questline with a nice reward at the end… Blizzard proceeds with currency grinds as always…

It’s their own anniversary, they can do a questiline for each class and they can even do this a 10-80lvl friendly approach with scenarios, some kind of Delve for the set.

Then keep the currency system but with a good pase, so any player can get all cosmetics in a matter of 1 week, if you want players to be active without a carrot in a stick, then just do FUN gameplay. I hope classic TW dungeons are fun, because pvp has the same old pvp brawl…nothing new.

The sad truth though is that, for better or worse, players like the ‘carrot on a stick’. Very few players do anything in game for no reward at all and ‘just for fun’. Doesn’t matter what it is. If there’s no reward tied to what they’re doing, they won’t do it. Expectedly, this means participation in things like events falls off a cliff once players are ‘done’ with them. They aren’t going back and continuing to participate just because they think it’s fun, regardless of how the gameplay mechanics are designed.

Of course, I’ll have to include a disclaimer that yes, there are players who do indeed do stuff ‘just for fun’ and don’t need rewards. You might even be one of them. But if you are, just know that you’re in a pretty small minority who doesn’t care about carrots.

I havent looked up the ways of adwuisition but they said youd get the currency by doing seasonal content pvp m+ raids.

My actual concern is not having enough currency to buy everything. This anniversary shouldnt be about “buying what you can afford” it should be about getting everythinf now without no lifeing for the entire patch

Glad I only have to chase a few bronze things to get the pets and toys that I don’t have…the stuff on the Timewrap vendor I already have 25,000+ of those badges waiting so no need to grind that out as I only less then 10K to get pets and mounts…all that gear…not for me…just not into mogging as much as some are now…I pay more attention to get new Coldflame Tempest mount …quite a few things you have to do in order to get that mount now.

Wait, tier sets need to be grinded?

What the fudge? Like, as a 20 year anniversary we actually don’t get anything. I was legit under the (good) impression that Tier reworks would be like a present or perhaps a reward after a small quest chain - a thank you token for playing their game… But looks like we gotta do ANOTHE set of daily grinds…come on man

Blizz is legit brain dead. This is basically just another world event but with MASSIVE FOMO slapped on it

Not daily.

Weekly.

And no one is saying we expect everything after one pass. This is ridiculously low though. This has become their go-to for all things now - make it so players have to grind it out so they are compelled to login. Not that they want to be compelled to do fun activities. This game design is busted.

They are digging their own grave at this point.

why cant we just get a random item emailed to our mailbox each day we sign in and have the item expire out and delete itself if we dont sign in and claim?

I got enough chores to do, I just play wow to relax and not feel like i need to do 37 things before actually start to unwind for fun

That would be OK if the effort was actually an effort. Instead of being a arbitrary timegate that screws over those that can’t log in daily. More than likely they are going to adjust the drop rate as the event progresses, just like RePanda and Blunderstorm. Best thing for me is I don’t care about the T2 sets, so hopefully I can get the few things I actually do want. I’m most excited for the timewalking, but it’s very mild at best. I’m also hoping AV is still good for leveling alts, if not I’ll skip it also. :hear_no_evil::speak_no_evil::see_no_evil:
