20th Anniversary Event - Feedback

IMO it was one of the best events we’ve had a in long time. I loved it and thank you Blizz for putting together such an awesome event and bringing back memories.

Suggestion: make it a yearly thing and let it run for a week or two around the release date/birthday of WoW.

Is this post from the future?

How bad does it get?

Future reward: all toons created in Vanilla/TBC get hover chairs similar to Khadgar’s.

I, for one, suspect the weird hand of Nozdormu in this post.

The overall concept was pretty good but the execution wasn’t that great, except for the secret finding stuff.
The balancing and rewards for the new raid was questionable at best, which led to a lack of groups willing to do it. The Codex event was extremely boring and the lack of any rewards for the smaller events, like Mount Mania, made some of these activities pretty pointless after the first two days of trying it out. Classic Timewalking dungeons were okay, but imo quite uninteresting because we’ve been running these dungeons hundreds of times before - the RNG with this was also a bit annoying, I’ve never managed to get into Zul Farrak.
It was just the typical and stale “grind currency for some cosmetics” with FOMO in mind, nothing special or exciting. I would give it a 5/10.

I’m actually sad it’s over. I really enjoyed the fairgrounds all all of the fun little things!

I regret that Blizzard saw fit to make transmogs free only while the fashion contest was active instead of just over the entire course of the event (or just permanently, because those fees are trash and I’m tired of hiding minor things just because it costs less)

Anyway, this event really wasn’t that bad overall. Was overall more engaging than most of the other holiday events.

Gotta have ways to empty out the “excess” in gold.

It just blows my mind that they can’t just, you know, give less gold.

Fixed it for you :slightly_smiling_face:

Because of the insane amounts from WoD-ish era, you’ll have some players with big bank and others who may struggle to pay a repair fee.

I was one of those people, actually. Funded my sub for literally years before it ran down to more normal levels. That to me is the right way to empty a player out.

I could… but I cant bring myself to use my hoard.

:money_mouth_face:

Given how wow’s inflation has been going, your hoard is worth more now than it will be in the future. Don’t sit on it too long is my advice, because it’s not earning any interest.

I get it… I like to watch the number grow though…

I did for a little while but at some point, it stopped being exciting, so I used it. I didn’t have as much as Aesica obviously had.

Not terrible, yet not overly great. The updated T2 sets, pets, transmogs, toys, and mounts were cool little additions. I grabbed every single one of them. I also got several old school reps to exalted and got 3 other alts to 80 with the xp bonuses. However, Codex of Chromie felt kinda boring/pointless. BRD, while a cool little nostalgia trip, was overtuned for what you got out of it. Mount Mania was also kind of wonky. It only picked from a fraction of the mounts available in game and at times it’d do the same mount twice in the same session. All in all, I enjoyed it. The amount of stuff to get on the vendors kept me coming back so that’s saying something. It wasn’t an event that a week in I was done with.

I enjoyed it enough, liked the chromie event, the TW dungeons, the mogs and mounts, good stuff. I didn’t hate what had to be done for achievements and didn’t mind doing the secret stuff and crates etc. Overall I thought it was fine and I am curious what, if not all of it will return in the future.

Agree. Currency earning getting buffed helped a lot. Fun activities and drsirable rewards. It should come back every year with ssme length.

The only thing I felt could have been better was Chromie’s event.
