How about you have a “dual spec” that you can only change at the class trainer, and it costs let’s say 10g to change your spec.

It still changes your bars and gear to your previous spec profile you chose just like dual spec, but it is done in the exact same way as a normal respec currently is done.

Do you think that would be a good compromise so that people can more freely change their specs, without effecting the gameplay of Vanilla at all?

Personally, I’m ok with this. I’m even ok with just reducing the cost to a reasonable number. The problem with the current respec system is twofold imo;

1. It actively dissuades players from participating in content and playing critical roles. There’s zero chance I’m playing a tank or healer if I’m going to be punished for doing so by being worthless everywhere except instanced PvE if I don’t grind gold to respec.

2. Resetting your bars every time is miserable and no one wants to waste time doing it multiple times a week for “immersion”.

Yep, this is really the crux of the argument. People who don’t want dual-spec really only have one “logical” argument, they want a higher demand on gold. You really have to ask yourself. Why do these individuals want a higher demand on gold? Who does having a higher demand on gold really help? People who sell gold.

Sure, I think any of us for dual-spec would be for any kind of thing that would let us change specs without spending 100g back and forth. Unlike people against it who absolutely want no flexibility (because they want a high demand on gold), people for dual-spec just want some way for it to be cheaper for us to have fun, swap specs here and there, and enjoy Classic.
