Does anyone have an official knowledge on whether or not we will have the option to race change our 85 characters to Pandaren to play the MOP expansion? Or is the only option going to be to level them from 1?
The 85 boost service currently say that you can’t use them on Pandaren race characters.
When MOP was retail couldn’t you race change right at release?

it wouldn’t make sense for you to not be able to race change to a race that is an allowed combination. As in, you will be able to make a level 1 pandaren priest, so you should by all means be able to race change an 85 goblin to pandaren.
it should only be monk that is restricted from things like level boosts.
I’m not sure why you would want to, but you what’s stopping anyone from making a level 1 pandaren priest for example, and then purchasing a boost. Seems rather silly if it were to be restricted.

Always been my impression that if it has a world.first achievement attached to it, its not allowed.
I’m not really sure, I think they might limit it. Mostly because people are anticipating being allowed to boost a monk as any race outside of a pandaran. Mostly because the boost specifically says that pandaran are off limits but nothing about monks.
If they went and allowed race changes than people could easily boost a character and then race swap them to pandaran, which would negate the whole not allowed to boost a pandaran rule.
In general I think it’s most likely they just exclude pandaran from any of the shop services, but who knows.
you could immediately race change back in original MoP so idk why you wouldn’t be able to now once prepatch goes live, just like you could with goblins/worgen during cata prepatch
Were worgen and goblins also allowed to be boosted at the start of cata? If so it could be a different situation going forward.
The reason I ask is because they’ve already stated that pandaran won’t be available for the boost, so this could be closer to tbc situation. And if they’re not allowing boosting than I would think it would make logical sense to not allow race changes. (Though blizzard doesn’t always make sense)

Not exactly. Back in the day it was allowed, you just wouldn’t get the world first achievement
It’s the opposite now. You can boost Pandas but not race change into them. Currently in Pre-Patch, we can boost a Panda but Race Changing is locked.

Agreed. I bought a Race Change during the big sale, so I could use it today on my Main, but low, was I frustrated when I got home and tried, only to find out it’s not allowed, completely blocked.

This, and GMs are refusing to refund the race change because they think I bought it too long ago. It was only a couple weeks.

That’s strange, I’ve race changed my Rogue into a panda.
How? I was just checking again and it’s still locked for me.
Ive tried just a few seconds ago and still locked, im trying to change my dwarf shaman into pandaren and the only race available is still being draenei
