Just removing the one core per week for doing a full clear was too hard I guess.

That’s fair this expansion has been a bit of mess however people did still enjoy themselves I’m one of them and I know a couple friends that say they enjoyed this expansion despite it flaws. I’m sorry you don’t feel that way though. I hear shadow lands has some nice things in store 
Anyways, back to grinding echoes. I am done lol. GG. I consider it a win for me.
It’s funny how most people white knighting are players that do barely any challenging end game content.
Of course this is fine for you if you pet battle all day or clear 5 heroic bosses lol
9 dungeons isn’t even all that much my guy. Plus your forgetting about all the other things you do that rewards the currency. Did you want it to be free? Cost 500 echos instead? At that point it may as well be free
You forget about all the other stuff we have to buy with the same currency?
You forget about the part where people want to also have fun in this game after earning a reward that makes them more powerful and thus granting them access to more challenging content?
Or maybe you’re just a hamster.

Nothing wrong with complaining about a bad system, and corruption is a bad system.
Most people wanted additional cores from vision runs, not another strain on the already limited echoes currency.

Yep, they could have just let us endlessly bash our heads in visions but at least we could grind it reasonably.
Want to run 20 visions in a day to catch up? Knock yourself out.
That would have been a good change.
If you think that 2000 echoes is too much, don’t buy them. I’m very happy with this change and I don’t want them to undo it!

echos are farm-able (if you pvp, M+ to a lesser extent only due to the time investment) but even passively you should be able to get around 10k per week and so 5 extra will have you caught up in about 2 weeks.

I am sitting on 20k echoes. Maybe I will get off my read and get my cloak to 15. New Diablo 3 season and the Minecraft nether update are both out though…
What about the people that hate visions? What about pvp players?
No reason it couldn’t be both.
I hate visions too, but I’d still take cores from visions over buying them with echoes at 2k a pop. That’s 2k * X cores that I don’t get to spend on corruptions/essences that my alts need.
Also arena is the best way to farm echoes right now, so pvpers are still in the best spot.
If they’d boosted the echo drops alongside this change, it would’ve been much better received.

Visions are time gated though? It would probably take longer going that route. Can’t have your cake and eat it too
Could just reduce the price of everything. We have three borrowed powers attached to the same currency right now. Overkill.

Maybe the correct path was to not let corruption resistance go up at all and guilds that get stuck should just focus on getting gooder.
I agree with this though for sure. If they are gonna tie everything to one currency they should have made them easier to farm
