Especially for warriors. My UD was passively restoring crazy amounts of health. Between bandages and cannibalism, never need any food except for Well Fed buffs.
Boom, and not certain if you know, but the passive health regen and mana regen of spirit is greatly increased when sitting.
Horde racials are far better than those of the Alliance for hardcore.
Then they get to raiding and see how OP pally buffs are
I did not! Thank you for enlightening me.
You’re welcome,
my tip:
make a mage friend.
honorable mention: invis and underwater breathing potions, real important. dont forget nogginfogger quest chain. when all else fails, rumsey rum black label is bis.
Engineering is great, but I’m doing Alchemy because it has too many super good potions to pass up for a Warrior on HC. Besides, Engineering is something you end up leveling twice to get all the toys anyway and that is better to save for level 60.
For Warriors I rank the racials on HC as Warstomp > Escape Artist > Stoneform > Shadowmeld. The weapon skill racials are really nice but there are going to be more situations where getting out of there would have saved you.
Weapon skills are always the best, having higher weapon skill is the most important thing while leveling a warrior. Orc/human are the best warriors at every stage.
hunter tips:
Put every point in beast mastery.
Make your pet strong. The more damage you can offload to your pet, the lower the chance you pull agro off it.
Put 2 talent points into improved aspect of cheetah. 6% movement speed is 6% faster leveling.
Train a boar for earlier levels. The charge will give a nice instant burst agro and speed up leveling
Ignore groups that say hunters are bad. They will soon be 10 levels below you anyway.
I have tested this. While a Human or Orc will literally always have the max weapon skill for their level, and non-Human/Orc will almost always be a point or two shy of max (-7 skill total let’s say) the times this weapon skill advantage prevents a death or even a sticky situation is negligible.
It isn’t the case that a non-Human/Orc is going to have noticeable increase in deaths that can be attributed to weapon skill or mobs dying slower (it isn’t that much slower). You are a lot more likely to miss an important shield bash and get a fireball to the face than get some super bad luck with misses/glances. This weapon skill difference does matter later so that has to be taken into account.
What do yall think are the best levels to take a break and level another char while you amass rested xp?
Off the top of my head I think mid 20s and 30s is worth it.
After that mid to late 40s if not early 50s. At the end its all a grind, but outside those I think its worth just pressing on and youre still safe.
You’re looking at it backwards. Not getting glancing/parry/dodge/miss/block etc. prevents you from getting into a bad situation in the first place. If you’re in a situation you need to stomp you usually already screwed up or (most often) had bad luck with your swings, which is much less likely with higher weapon skill, particularly on mobs around your level where human/orc will always be 1 level ahead, max out earlier after each level. And it’s massively better once you hit endgame. Weapon skill is by far the best pve stat for warriors.
The only way to play Hardcore is to not die, everything else is headcanon.
That said, HC doesn’t feel as rewarding when you twink out from a higher level character. So I get it. But to each their own.
Alchemy/Herb isn’t as big a benefit when you can just buy pots off the ah. Which makes Engi for target dummies and bombs the clear winner.
Everything else was on point though
That hasn’t been the case for about 19 years
the price of ah pots gonna be real interesting.
tip:
-
farm areas with heal/mana pots in your level range
-
swiftthistle is a gold mine.
It depends on the game. If you can just be carried, then it’s not really HC imo. But to each their own. I’m looking forward to official implementation of SSF and challenges like nudist/no talents.
No argument on it being the best stat for DPS. We are just going to disagree on it being a better racial for a leveling a Warrior on HC. Having a racial utility is better in many situations where you could prevent a death by using it.
*> Higher-level characters “power-leveling” lower-level characters are not something that we feel is appropriate for WoW Classic Hardcore.*
I was illustrating that there are more variables to HC than “just don’t die”. It depends on the setting. Regardless, having a 60 following you around clearing problems out is also being carried.
