2 weeks in and I already feel like quitting

So I will be 100% honest with everyone here… I’m here to complain.

TBC is actually fun. I love it. I think it’s better than Classic and that says a lot because I really enjoyed Classic.
Weird thing is, I’m two weeks in and I feel like quitting… but I’m trying to hold onto any reasons not to quit after my subscription runs out.

Today is when the thought of quitting hit me. I must have spent 8 hours throughout the day in game with two simple goals in mind, and that was to do two Heroic dungeons… Old hillsbrad and Crypts. I couldn’t form one complete group after searching and spamming all day in the LFG channel. I would take the time to form my own group and no luck in finding a tank or a healer. Yesterday I was only able to do one of the two because my guild was nice enough to help. but why is it so difficult to do something that should be so simple?

It’s moments like these that I wish we had cross realm premade group finder, just like in retail because I’m two weeks into a game that already feels dead. It’s sad because the thought of cross realm seemed ridiculous a week ago and now it seems like it could prevent the game from dying. I might not be on the highest populated server, but that shouldn’t be the answer to all my problems either.

Put aside the cross realm idea… but where is the Premade Group finder they spoke about at Blizzcon? And why have they not said anything about it since? I’ve read posts on the forms asking for it. Did Blizzard stop caring?

yep, i had the same issue. i rerolled into a populated server and having a better time finding people even for lower lvl dungeons. But blizzard doesn’t seem to want to fix the problem since the solution is for you to spend 25 bux.

my vanilla server was somewhat dead at hours that weren’t peak. it was frustrating trying to do anything because even guild members weren’t around unless it was 8pm on a friday.

it’s pretty obvious now why blizzard decided to add xrealm queues. this game benefited from being able to play with others from different servers. classic is just a reminder of that when it takes forever to do anything.

that being said-- best option now is to join the discord community for your server. mankrik server was very popular during classic, and it didn’t take long at all for me to find groups.

I think there’s still a lot of peeps barely getting to 70, and grinding rep for the keys. I’d suggest holding out for another couple weeks then see how the groups/finding people goes.

In the meantime roll and Alt and have fun.

Yeah, Mankrik seems like a beautiful server with a healthy population.
The problem is, I’m on Heartseeker and I made a lot of great friends on this server that I wouldn’t want to leave behind. these people are the reason I’m still playing. If I were to server transfer to Pagle in my case because I’m Alliance (I’d say it’s the Alliance version of Mankrik), it wouldn’t be the same. I feel like I would lose interest in the game faster because I don’t get the enjoy the game with my friends anymore. so it kind of feels like a lose-lose situation to me.

Found your problem

Either you get groups or you languish on a dead server your pick

Did you read my post or just want to be annoying?

Imagine the only solution to all population problems is to server transfer. Seems like an unreasonable thing to me. Why would blizzard make more than one server if the only solution was to pick the most populated server? Now when the server is overpopulated… we get long queues that take 5+ hours to get in at night and get thousands of people complaining. but the solution to that problem is to make more servers, but those servers are dead… so we have to server transfer back to the populated server again?

Your problem is that you probably don’t even know where Heartseeker stands in the population list. it’s not a dead server. it’s just not the highest.
Educate yourself before throwing out an opinion.

really they should just make one high-capacity server for each playstyle at first and expand if it isn’t enough. but they always start with too many.

I did

I replied the way I did because I transferred from a dead server to a massive one and now I can get groups constantly

Just saying bro

25 ain’t much for a big boost to qol

I really don’t understand this too much but to each their own. If your issue is you can’t find groups, and you’re going to quit, then why not just transfer and see if you can’t find a group of people to play with? Or even bring over some of your friends? I mean if you’re quitting anyway then you aren’t playing with those friends right? So you might as well do it if it’s so bad you are going to quit.

Your problem is being caused by the game being extremely popular, actually. Group finder wouldn’t fix your problem because your problem exists on every single realm – Everyone wants to play a DPS class, a few people want to heal, and even fewer want to tank. The fix to your problem is to either roll a tank or to accept that you’re basically waiting in a DMV line to find one.

Even if playing a tank doesn’t sound super fun to you (what a coincidence, that’s why tanks are rare), you should give it a try and experience the feeling of being the most sought-after role in the game. It’s really easy to make groups and there’s not nearly as much waiting around and spamming in trade.

To be fair, they started with too little for classic. I think Eastern servers had 3-4 options, or something like that. i dont know if it was 3-4 pvp servers and a bit more for PvE and RP. But I remember they had to make more servers.

Another issue if everyone wants Locks/Mages and dps war/rogues/rets/enh are left out in the cold. My friend is a ret and even though he is decked out he can’t get into groups cuz you know ret. I told him he should try tanking so he can get everything he needs and then just switch back to ret.

Not sure if you’re just on a dead server or what but 100% have not experienced not finding heroic groups. I would recommend just running with your guild or form a 5 man to try and knock out heroics daily.

Found your problem. Take a break dude.

I don’t think i’ll be able to play TBC like i’m supposed to -
Get exalted for epic pieces
Farm millions of cloth or farm gold to buy cloth to get epic crafted gear
Sit for hours looking for heroic dungeons as warlock and get rejected cause i have only 650 spd
Not getting into raids because my guild have all statics full and there is not a single pug that seek for dps (especially warlock, unless warlock is already overgeared kek)

I like gameplay, but it will take just too much effort to do anything. I don’t have willpower.
Not asking for changes, i’m sure most people like those things

Also can’t pvp as horde, which is a shame

I think you are playing the wrong game. Locks on my server at least get auto invites to heroics, pug kara/gruuls/mag runs. Dude, just seed EVERYTHING! lol

I agree lol can get into anything without question
