I think you’re probably right with this.
Perhaps after all the Classic content has been released and out for a while, they will introduce some changes, if people continue asking for them.
To state that the ranking system isn’t designed as well as it could be or could have been in hindsight I think is a pretty obvious thing, and it certainly changed over time. To say it’s broken though is (imo) inaccurate, provided it works more or less how it did in Vanilla.
There, I fixed it for you. This coming from the most poor mage in the server (respec pvp and no time to aoe farm due to ranking made me reach rank 12 with 30g left).
You just want stuff handed to you with them cheap respec and easy pvp gear… want welfare gear? Go back to retail

I’m saying the ranking system is 100% pure garbage, and it shouldn’t have ever taken hindsight to see that. I bet they wanted to change it earlier, but figured they’d wait until the expansion pack to make the switch.

Having said that though, I’m pushing for Rank 10 on this mage, and have been enjoying that so far… to an extent.
One of the big challenges I’m finding is how to deal with poor sports… you know, those players who encourage their team to throw games, or start crying, “You guys suck. That’s it we lose. Let them 5 cap” like… 30 seconds into the BG.
It seems that some macros, and some direction can really go a long way, but yeah, that’s probably the biggest challenge so far… anti-team teammates.
respec’n is a terrible idea that has no business being in classic.
I can’t pvp in pve spec.
I can’t pve in pvp spec.
I can’t farm in either pvp/pve spec.
That’s a minimum of 150g a couple of days if I want to do any of those things. Nope, it is not even remotely fun.
But more fun as a mage than say oh, idk… a druid.
No changes.
There is alot more “wrong” with classic than just two things,.
do you really want them JUST to put more band aids on Classic or do want them to come out with a NEW game that does what classic does only better?
I want to see WoW 2 ( as retail is far too deep into the ditch and classic needs far too much work)!
Classic is just fine. You want easy PVP wins go play the BG the pruned to give you 99% win rates in and stop crying.

Neither of these fix anything. Premades were big in vanilla so maybe it ain’t the game that’s supposedly broken. 
Respeccing is ridiculously cheap in this game anyway, to the point that people are doing it every other week. Respecing should be a once or twice per character kind of thing to do if it’s allowed at all. Not that I think they should change it, just pointing out that there’re players who see classic as an MMORPG rather than a moba.

The irony is …there have been changes…and consequences.
If they make the suggested changes, people could tell you to go play private servers or retail if you didn’t like it.
Such an argument would have exactly the same validity: none.
They haven’t made balance changes in the game, which is what everyone keeps stupidly asking for. All that crap going on with the realm populations are not balance changes.
Funny thing is, outside of rank 14 gear, all of classic gear should be considered welfare gear. Ive never seen easier to get BiS than Classic.
