2 ways to fix classic

Now why would blizz let you respec on the cheap when you could just spend another month and $15 in sub fees to level another toon specced differently?

thats some rock solid logic bud!

I care about number 1 because it effects classic majorly. Part of the core of Vanilla what decide in the game matters to a degree and may cost you.

Well number 2 doesnā€™t if done correctly.

As being able to group with friends.
Example 5 below consider pug in WSG?
8 below consider pug in AB?
So fourth.
Vanilla core about communication between ppl. Some type of group for bg is still needed. A full premade might not be but friends I would say yes.

Thanks for the suggestions. Player feedback to Blizzard always helps.

Other players may disagree. So what?

The cornerstone of gameplay is a ā€œriskā€? Where do you clowns come from? There are no risks involved in vanilla talent specs because thereā€™s no mystery or experimentation left to be done with them. All thatā€™s left is proven builds with very defined purposes, and the respec cost just hampers gameplay options.

Itā€™s not an issue of there being a cost or even a scaling cost, but it scales down far too slowly to accommodate a player who does more than 1 type of gameplay each week. Some guilds raid on monday/tuesday for the sole purpose of having 12 days between raid nights just to cut down the respec costs of their players. Even then, the slow cost decay of 5g/month means that a player respecā€™ing every 12 days is still going to hit the 50g cap and stay there.

The respec cost only needs to be high enough to dissuade respecā€™ing twice every day, not to dissuade from ever respecā€™ing period. Making talent specs too painful or costly to change undermines having talent trees at all. If the intention is that players never change their talents, then donā€™t give them trees and points to begin with and just assign a spec when they make a character.

If you donā€™t like it, you can go to the retail forums.

Why fix what isnā€™t broken?

  1. heirlooms
  2. looking for raid

Then play something else. You shouldnā€™t be able to do everything you want in the drop of a hat with no cost; choices should have consequences.

not even close

Let say you spec PvP you havenā€™t and you do have to raid that night. Well you donā€™t have the g to switch back. You made your choice.

Respect cost goes down every month.

Also, it suppose to be an rpg as well. Where you identify with your toon as well as others.

I am in the other boat where you shouldnā€™t get to respec. 50g sounds about right in the middle.

A game is out that gives duel spec.

Imagine wanting this much control over how other people enjoy the gameā€¦

At least 95% of the playerbase has never even paid a 25g respec, let-alone racking up anywhere close to an epic mountā€™s worth of respecs in their entire time playing Classic.

A one-time 1000g fee for dual-spec or unlimited respecs would be a 10x more effective gold-sink.

Most games have a matchmaker which attempts to create equal teams. In fact, every game that Iā€™ve played in at least the last 12 years has had some kind of matchmaker, from League of Legends to CS:GO to Starcraft 2, and even World of Warcraft from TBC onwards.

Imagine playing League of Legends with a queue system like Classic. It would be garbage.

Imagine if Blizzard made it where you couldnā€™t respec at all. Would more people play the game? Why not? Would people run dungeons/raid/PvP more? Why not?

The problem with the 50g respec is that it doesnā€™t make the game more fun, nor is it an effective gold-sink since the vast majority of players would rather quit playing the game than pay a 50g respec.

And get rid of batching.

All of these #nochanges sentiments are heartwarming.

Does this mean the AV threads will finally stop?

While #changes are fun to think about, I agree, Blizzard isnā€™t going to do anything.

The best possible gold sink would be making 1.4 epic mounts available for purchase for 3,000 - 5,000 gold each.

But #NOCHANGESNOCHANGESNOCHANGESRARARA

do I go to retail saying hey no duel spec?
Do I?

Answers is I donā€™t. So, who is trying to impose how ppl play in classic?
