Massive drop of population at the moment. Expect that until AQ comes out which will be June 2020. For longevity reason even private server tuned the content abit.
40 man roster crits you. That’s how hard wow is. To easy. Biggest thing is managing 40 people. More like 50 to have a decent amount.
Stop following other people’s strats and run the dungeons blind.
No. Why? Because sometimes I wonder how much of a headache I’d have if those ‘rough’ groups were in pre-1.12 gear…
Not many people actually wanted 1.12 nerfed client.
We got it because “it’s the only one they could find”.
Right. That’s why most of the servers are still layered, the rest are all either full or high except for a handful. Troll harder.
If they brought out bwl/aq, your friends would have it done in a week too and they’d all be bored again.
How does DM coming out mean ppl like a challenge? Doesn’t it basically make the game easier?
they actually released the game on an easy patch original patch mc wasn’t able to be cleared till they gave everyone diremaul to fill there gear out much of the prebis everyone is using is heavily buffed versions of the original gear and many of the classes were buffed
Yes I do. Classic is way, way too easy. The private servers had it right. Best argument is the way tanking is now. If warriors are basically ignoring shields and their prot tree, then the game is too easy. No point arguing against this.
we raid with 25 , thats challenge enough
We started on the 1.12.1 Drums of War AQ patch…Everyone that knew anything about how many class reworks were before that knew this was going to be easy mode until AQ.
AQ40 will be challenging for the more casual guilds, but they’ll get through it. It will not be at all difficult for experienced raiders, and certainly not even a blip on the radar for the hardcore pserver guys, who will clear it in an afternoon.
I wished, and wish, that Blizz would put forth the effort to reconstruct an earlier patch to some extent. While the claim is that they can’t, I suspect it really just isn’t worth it to them till they see how much of a success Classic ends up being.
I’d like to see people clear MC with a) an 8 debuff limit (and I am pretty sure that in the bad bad old days, each sunder counted as a separate debuff slot); b) no raid markers; c) No NBG loot (gotta do that yourself); d) weaker gear; e) weaker talents; f) whatever it is that made people in patch 1.4 believe that tank threat was so low. If you watch the video of the first ever Rag kill, the rogue who took it is doing pretty weak dps, and he still clearly thinks he’s threat capped, he’s spamming Feint and accusing other people of “nuking”. Could just be he was wrong; basic research on threat wasn’t done till January 2006, well after the first Rag kill in April 2005. As added sadism, maybe take out the attunement and make it so you have to run through BRD as you did at launch. Oh and Rags despawns after 1 hour. I won’t insist they put the various bugs that made him both easier and harder back in. And I know they can’t really make everybody believe they need 200 FR as they believed at the time.
Would APES still have done it week 1? Yeah, they would have. Who else, though?
Realistically I know this would be a “niche within a niche” so probably will never happen, but I’d like to see it. It is authentic vanilla and what a lot of us experienced. Maybe down the road they could start a couple fresh servers on an old patch.
I am definitely still holding out for “unkillable” C’Thun at launch. Without the bugs, but with the overtuning. Would like to see how APES and company stack up on that.
You realise the main reason for this is that people are just doing dungeons at a much higher level than they used to. Dungeons were hard in Vanilla because people would go into them the minute they got the first quest, and slog their way through pulls with mobs 5 levels higher than them. Of course it was hard, and it was a waste of time when you could just gain a couple of levels and make it trivial.
People used to do Deadmines at 16, SFK at 18. Cathedral at 36. The end boss was 8 levels higher than them. And you could still complete dungeons this way, but it was very slow going.
People just understand the game far better now, and there’s nothing that Blizzard can do to reverse that. Classic will be very easy for the entirety of its existence because it always was.
No. The game was never hard anyway.
I don’t know why people think new raids will somehow make the game harder? I’m pretty confident even the first iterations of looking for raid in WoW are harder than virtually any content Classic raiding has to offer.
This is not even close to true. Bring some people who miss the banishes on garr and see how it goes.
Classic, even by private server standards, is not hard to play lol.
No.
I would never have even started playing if druids were unplayable trash as they were at the initial release of vanilla.
I think it’s a huge mistake to listen to the most elite players’ demands that all content be made challenging for the top 1-2%, not just in classic but in any game. Those players are only there to clear raids and get them on farm asap. They will leave as soon as they stop getting more content, which will inevitably happen. The majority will be left behind in the dust with content that is unplayable for them.
