2 days in a row no research quests in Korthia

Most of my play time is on weekends. How am I supposed to level my research if there are no quests giving research? I’m like 1000 research from tier 5. I’ve finished all but one of the tier 4 relics. I’m just running around trying to kill rares and collect chests at this point but the zone is empty when there is no research quests. No rare groups in LFG, and no one joins when I start one.

I given up on this stuff I am at Tier 4. Need a bunch more for 5. One of the worst grinds so far. Never going to unlock sockets or 252 coundits.

Why isn’t this fixed Blizzard? Its a horrible grind mechanic.

There are two quests for appearances that I already have . Why would they think I would want to do this?

EDIT: Okay I was wrong on this. They are new appearances. Still no excuse for why no research for 2 days.

…that’s a lie.

They don’t offer duplicate pieces of transmog.

Okay, well It doesn’t say “You haven’t collected this appearance” when I view it. I’ll do one and see if it gives me an appearance. I could be wrong, but there should still be at least one research quest out of 2 days.

I am almost to tier 5 and I just started playing Shadowlands a month ago. I never join rare groups in LFG and have never gone out of my way to kill rares or loot chests either. What are you people doing?

I haven’t seen a single piece of the cosmetic set and am currently tier 4 and revered with Death’s Advance. Really wish the dailies were designed to give you a choice of several different rewards from each.

I’ve gotten several pieces but they’re not really the kind of stuff I like to wear. I’m not a costume person. I try to look like someone who actually had my job and skills would look, so I mostly use really old appearances.

It is astounding they haven’t hot fixed this research yet. We will be CAPPED on reknown next week and most of the player base isn’t even rank 6 yet.

I would guess most of the playerbase doesn’t really care to be at six if they aren’t there already.

Up until now there have been 2 kinds of reputation.

  1. Tied to power progression, obtained naturally over time. Dedicated people can have it done in less than 2 weeks with daily farming. (Think the assault reputations and their associated Heart of Azeroth essences, bi weekly quests awarding a ton of rep)
  2. NOT tied to power progression. (The fishing guy in Dalaran for example) Can take ALOT of effort and will never progress on it’s own from natural play but still able to farm it out with effort quickly.

Korthria is neither. It provides power progression in the form of gear (garbage for most) sockets and conduit upgrades. BUT it doesn’t progress from natural play and even if you grind it daily it’s designed to take months. It is literally the worst grind in WOW history that actually effects your power.

I’m at the point where I don’t really need the gear, I just want to finish it to get to the upgrades and other bonuses and because I like to finish things.

Do you think there is a hidden weekly cap? Once you hit a certain amount of research you’re less likely to get research?

No but there is a daily cap. Relics literally stop dropping for you. “Rares” only drop items once. If you FULL clear everything you can get as much as like 2k research (1000 rep) or as little as like 700 (350 rep) depending on RNG.

Today’s Korthia had 2 pieces of the gear set appearance that I didn’t have. So I’m happy. Will I ever use that ugly set? No, of course not. But it does make those greyed out slots in my appearance tab fill up…

Jesus Christ. We’re just monkeys, aren’t we?

so don’t do it - I am very doubtful anyone needs it to progress if it takes months to get. I will play that area until I get all the mounts/pets/toys anyway.

Power progression. Try to keep up buddy you’re embarassing yourself.

If it was just mounts pets or toys I’d agree. It’s not.

There is a mount.

I see so you think all those mythic raiders waited until they got tier 6 and sockets to kill bosses.

Did you miss this part or did it just confuse you - what the heck kind of progression do you think I meant.
