1v1s... why aren't there 1v1's

I don’t like screwing teammates over because I don’t know what the hell I’m doing.

So, why the hell isn’t there a 1v1 option for unrated battles? It’s stupid that there isn’t. It’d be a great way to actually get to know what classes do what and how to handle them instead of just spamming cooldowns like I do because, well, I don’t know any better most of the time. I honestly don’t, there are a few skills I know that I should interrupt, and there are a few classes that I’m starting to get the hang of handling, but it’s stupid that there isn’t just some unrated 1v1 option to go head to head with each other. The only way to get real 1v1 PVP experience is just to cruise around Kul Tiras and hope you find another player that isn’t just going to run for backup.

I don’t want to be an idiot to my teammate, even in unrated matches because I don’t know what I’m doing, straight up 1v1s would be an ample opportunity to learn what’s going on instead of just blending in with a crowd on 10v10 matches and junk.

I think it’s stupid to even offer a rated matchup when people that have no idea like me can just jump into them and screw somebody else over… like, come on.

Is d2jsp always going to reign supreme over blizzard or what?

no idea why it posted on that character, but ^

Yes … I want a 1-1 option too so that I can learn instead of dragging team mates to loses .

WoW does not make it easy for new players to get into PvP.

There is. It’s called the duelers guild

Duel outside major cities or whatever. I find it fun to bait people into 1v1s in the world.

You know generally in Arenas where actual Gladiators is was mostly one vs one other. But aside from that rated 1v1s personally i would say sounded cool and i would like it personally. But here is why that will never be sadly.

First, “Healers” and “Tanks” will be invovled otherwise “DPS” strictly bracket wpuldnt be fair cause all class roles and playstyles wouldn’t be welcomes which in and of itself wouldnt be right. And certain, facing also said class roles would be a chore and not fun for a lot of obvious reasons and insurmountable obstacle for others. Maybe dampening coming on faster, stealth sight coming faster, and nerfing tank specs a bit more (maybe) in 1v1 would help a little but still would be rough implementing this.

Secondly, if they had Rated 1s certain classes would be terribly at a disadvantage and class 1v1 scenario isn’t anything remotely what pvp devs work on, and so it would be super unbalanced. More rock, paper, scissors than anything. Certain classes will have huge advantages and there will be nothing to be done about it.

Third, if they tried it the old guard of WoW wouldnt respect to much that you achieve in it cause the experience or achievements you gain there wpuld be useless almost in team scenarios beyond knowing how to kill classes 1v1 well. So yeah you may be LOL say Glad 1v1er but 1200 3s exp, no one will want you even in a rbg likely.

Fourth, certain classes dominate in 1v1 scenarios and all the top rated classes would all be the same with not much diversity. Like Rogues , Suv hunters, Disc priests maybe, ww monks, tanks, I dont know but im sure would look pretty cheesy.

It is just not something Blizz is going to do for a plethora of reasons and though i think its a cool idea even i know it wouldn’t work out to well when people actually start taking it serious and want classes nerfed or buffed because of what happened in 1v1 and seeing their cries falling on death ears just will have people mad for no reason. So it is something just overall best avoided in done at Dueler’s Guild, Open world or outside cities where it belongs.

I don’t think the point here is to discuss which class is going to win more often then not due to an advantage in 1v1s but moreso for a way to practice fighting other classes in that environment.

We get that a well played x class will probably beat y class, but a good player playing y class that’s practiced can still win

Thus the point as i said of having 1v1 bracket pointless in that regard you can practice in regular duels against specific classes you have issues with vs random classes. And yes “Y” may have a chance but a chance in hell not much of a chance to the point of being moot lol.

You can always try the Duel Club/Guild or whatever it’s called.

That’s all about 1v1

And why mention d2jsp??? Wrong game.

100% disagree. As I am sure that i could beat anyone (meaning, certain players) on whatever spec, class they are depending on how they learned not only their own abilities but on how to trade and how to use the environment to their advantage.

For you it might be a “chance in hell” but that’s just you

There is dueler’s guild you can queue for duels in and get achievements and even a title. That’s the closest we’re ever going to get to anything arena related. Classes aren’t balanced for 1v1 PvP. There will always be classes that dominate 1v1.

Point being after “certain” players i guess you mean bad ones you will eventually run into others who will be significantly better and you will see the X beats Y scenario rather more frequently. And i am almost sure you fall under the “chance in hell” category as well considering your achievements in Arena since 08 on this toon and only managed 1550. So sure your skill to beat anyone are maybe more delusions of grandeur thay actual fact. I like to think i have a chance of beating anyone to at any given scenario but hey you always
get points for effort.

Me having stated simple facts about 1v1 situations is nothing to rail against because you don’t like it, it just is. And nothing serious like rated Arenas will become of it. Take what you have been given and enjoy it Dueling, Dueler’s Guild, open world etc are their for you to enjoy this type of gameplay.

And solo play will never be a substitute for pvp that requires a team effort. Far as dueling goes pretty common knowledgeable that duels dont matter to the majority of the higher rated player base. Simple reason, as i said just doesn’t translate to team related Arena matches. Knowing your class and how to counter certain other classes as well is probably the tip of the iceberg when considering Arena skills. They have plenty R1/Glads cause of changes in game will admit to still learning things frequently.

The comprehension issues LOL.

I don’t enjoy rated Arenas. That’s why i have not really played so your typical nerd assault on that is hilarious as it simply indicates you were upset and needed to look me up to put me down in some way hence the broken English

I actually don’t care about what you like or don’t like in 1v1s even if I never disagreed about class balance. The original poster wanted help practicing and you went off on a rant on something unrelated. i still believe you are simply not understanding or simply arrogant and egotistical to believe he need a lecture on what was what

And your last point, you keep stating obvious things and seem to be talking for no reason other then that you enjoy to see your own words (or just the comprehension issues) because it’s not helping or even answering the original poster’s request.

Take care Arena master

Lol sounds like English and comprehension are your issues cause obviously i was replying to you. But i guess simplistic answers are more your speed. Answered original post in detail, maybe if they let us draw pictures and illustrate our thoughts that way you maybe to get on board with text more than a couple sentences long. Not into Arenas yet here you are with np experience in them arguing smh lol.

Stated obvious, why a 1v1 solo que it is pointless for being able to help in team play, cause duh you not practicing on a team. If you played in a gym basketball all day everyday would make you good individually without the dynamics of a team situation you would not be well equipped for dealing with real game situations. 1v1 is more for understanding how to practice and counter play individual classes without interference from other players.

Everything is in the game already that can help OP do this so i don’t understand how this is unfathomable to you. You want to play against certain classes and learn how to fight them, duel them. Joining BGs maybe more helpful because Arenas aren’t based around 1v1 play. Otherwise, just do skirmishes for practice it is there for that purpose so people aren’t destroying their rating when they learning to play new comps and specs.

And thank you Arena Master is flattering but i don’t have that kind of time to invest in arenas to do much. I bring up your achievements not belittle you, but honestly there is nothing there at all to make someone to actually take you serious but I’m bored at times i guess lol. There isn’t anything to argue about really, if he wants to practice all the tools are there in environments made for his specific purposes. Can solo que skirmishes just fine without ruining people’s rating and get Arena experience without penalties.

What exactly is “np” experience? You mean “no” experience. Just clarifying to be sure. You sure write a lot of meaningless drivel along with your mistakes. LOL. I never argued at all about arenas, only you brought that up because you wanted to bring that up. We were talking about practicing in a 1v1 situation.

Anyway if you are up for it, we can do some 1v1s on a class of your choice and I can even put up the video win or lose for giggles

Did you read what the OP wanted instead of simply writing what you want to write? Nothing wrong with offering an opinion, but just about every top rated R1 streamer will tell you to duel other classes as a means to learn as well as other types of practice.

Skirmishes are NOT the best place to practice since in a lot of cases there is zero communication and you are playing against actual high rated teams practicing/screwing around.

You brought up the rating just as most do because you were upset  It’s OK, it’s generally what someone will do when they have nothing else to offer related to the discussion.

Come Mcfacerollme if you want

The way I got experienced with WPvP was my time spent in Legion. The combat was so fast paced in Legion, a rogue was able to one shot you if you weren’t careful enough and you had to predict what they were going to do before you popped your cooldowns. Pop your cooldowns too early, they can just wait them out. Pop them too late, well, you’re dead.

Playing in Legion WPvP was great. You had to think fast and in my opinion, definitely wasn’t for the casual players. I also got used to fighting against multiple players at once, going around in Stormwind solo or with a friend. We’d run around, kill auctioneers to make players attack us, and would go up against 7-8 players at once and win. It was a fun experience and I really miss it.

Now, in BfA, it’s become more about who has the most players. The thing with Legion was, it didn’t matter if someone had more players. Your gear could compensate for the difference in numbers, where as today, you have to rely on finding more people. It’s really a shame it got to this point.

True although the one thing you brought up that you can still do is where you can create scenarios where you are forced to react under pressure perhaps against multiple opponents.

Sure there are times when you won’t have the ability to survive or whatever and it will become a clown show but creating scenario where you can learn the limits of your gear your abilities and which ones work great against such and such a class will be golden

You are a cute, like i said before I’m sure if you ever decided to read a book would turn into meaningless drivel by the second paragraph to you. And far as opinions go rule of thumb the guy with 0 achievements thinking way to highly of himself ranks the top person not to listen to.

Why don’t we let you grasp 1750 rating before you go thinking to tell someone how to navigate the road to success without looking like a complete noob lol. OP question was answered long ago, sadly you don’t have the intelligence or wits to see it. You just want to argue for the sake of arguing and use smiley faces to show us you attempted to be clever all the while failing miserably in your attempts.

And pretty sure no Rank 1 streamer tells anyone the viable way to learn how to do Arenas is duels lmao. You sound just like what your Arena experience intels, no matter how many duels you win or lose you still won’t be taken seriously cause you accomplished nothing in all your 10+ years of playing Thousandfold. It is sad really yet you want to be taken serious far as your opinions when obviously what you know and think is the “path” hasn’t done squat for your arena abilities.

And i know you say ahhh i don’t take Arenas seriously so no biggie blah blah blah, excuses. You know back in the day was getting 1750+ consistently just getting my weekly PvP done to get my pvp vendor gear lol. Back then i never even cared about Arenas and was like you more a duel hero on my alts. I was more into world pvp and BGs at the time was very content with that.
Even though i always used to hear well “Duels don’t matter”, beat a Glad or give a R1 all they can handle reply was always the same. Sadly in all that time not much of that mentality has changed and i don’t have the achievements plenty have but i don’t have 0 either.

No one is angry…well maybe you lol. Like i said you don’t have a leg to stand on and your arguments alone let people further know you just a noob talking big just to be talking if someone needs to be a little more humble in their high opinion of things in Arenas it’s you bud.

If you don’t care, why bother being in Arena forums…trolling perhaps? In that respect hook line and sinker i fed you plenty consider this your last morsel from me.

And please stop giving bad advice to people who actually need help. Skirms are good practice for new players and as i already stated again, people use skirms to develop strategy, learn new comps/specs/classes and great place for new people who can meet other people who maybe willing to help them, in Voice even. Play the good with the bad in skirms but you lose nothing and learn from all the while in a “actual” arena setting where it can help in the same setting you trying to adapt to.

But anyways was fun kid you trolled me, good job. Brush your teeth, get actual degree instead acting like a English major here and last but not least get off my McNuggets noob lol :muscle:

-Mcfaceroller :v:

So upset  The “kid” label haha. The reason it’s meaningless drivel is because you don’t stick to the topic. Why would I need to “grasp” rating when I haven’t queued into a rated Arena in years. LOL, this was to help some guy with his 1v1 and not getting rolled in skirmishes or whatever you seem to want him to do. You CAN make friends and find help in that but it’s not something that happens all the time as you can tell if you understood the OP’s original message as he felt bad even queuing for that.

You really need to read what was originally posted as you are taking this on your own little crusade because you are so triggered.

Anyway you completely ignored my challenge because I have a feeling you are concerned about being embarrassed and I really do empathize with you so we we can end this since you obviously have no interest in that despite your “arena experience” LOL
