197 iLevel Cap Casual PVP

You are telling people to get good but 1600-1700 isn’t exactly Glad rating.

No it is not, which makes it even easier to achieve the minimum threshold to enjoy random BG’s.

A geared player should be powerful vs a fresh 60 in WPVP. A instanced pvp as unrated BG should be a place to have fun and skill should be predominant vs ilvl. Players who dont want to do rated content should be feel good doing casual content. If my goal is only to achieve 200 ilvl doing unrated BGs then i shouldnt be deleted in 1 shot.

I think scaling down ilvl for instanced PVP will be a good solution. A 226 ilvl player surely need to stick to his ilvl bracket or if he/she choose to play in another ilvl bracket should be scaled down.

PVP is about skill and team cooperation.

I don’t like arenas. I just do BGs. If doing casual BG were fair I will stick to it. This season is my first doing rated content( I’m only doing RBG) cause the ilvl disparity in casual is awful and doing only unrated BG I will never will catch up in a BG with those who do rated.

They would not be excluded. They can still que and get the rewards of random battle grounds. If they want to delete low gear level people they can do that in rated battle grounds.

The gear advantage would also still be relevant for raids, mythic plus, world content and all other content except for random battle grounds where they would be item level locked. But that should not be a problem for them if they are good at pvp. If anything it would be more fun, more of a challenge that mimics the rated battle ground games a bit more.

I’ve met Justin Rose a few times. Super nice guy. He switched from Taloyrmade to Homa. He went from world number 1 to 40.

A tour quality fit and build? Player would probably pick up 3-7 yards per club and between 10-12% effectiveness. More for the putter.

Why are pro/ streamer LOL players in my plat/ diamond games do carries and viewer challenges? Why do I have to beat a d3 duo bot and a D2 duo mid/ jg to get into D5?

Prove you belong. If you can’t beat 223-226 ilvl/ 1900 players are 215-220 ilvl gear is not the sole determining factor.

Everyone is allowed in random bgs.

But they don’t. They have better equipment. They are bigger and faster. They have millions of dollars in coaching, video analysis, diet/ nutrition and other analytics that give them an advantage.

For years we sent amateur’s to the Olympics. Home Depot was proud to employ more US Olympic athletes than anymore else. Other countries sent trained professionals. It’s still win or go home.

Character progression should matter. Time investment should matter. 197 or 200 ilvl was reasonable when high end players were 210-215. It’s not reasonable now. 210 for honor set and 213 for unranked would be, along with pvp options for conduits and sockets.

Nothing is stopping them from earning better gear.

If you remove the gear advantage, you remove the main incentive people have to get good gear. Participation would go down in both rated and unrated PvP. It might make some lazy players happy who don’t want to earn their gear in a gear-base game.

You know what’s magical about that though? They’re cracking down on smurfing because it’s dumb. Also magical is they beat you with skill alone. Not like league also gives them a whole bunch of power on top of their skill like wow does.

You still haven’t shown me an amateur league where pros go play in their full kits while amateurs have to play in their running shoes.

Just lol dude… Literally the only place backwards like this is wow. Keep pretending though man.

At the end of the day it boils down to the failure of the CR system, combined with item level. A lot for glad players are only in randoms because it’s better for them to farm honor in them. Over risking their rating, in fact it’s better and easier to get a high score in 2’s or 3’s. Then spam rated battlegroundsfor honor and conquest gains. That’s literally all this current system has going for it honestly.

OR

Not, and instead don’t solo-queue and look for groups/make friends and get the gear.

Random BGs aren’t a league. It’s the free for all pick up game where anyone can play. If you want league action there’s rated for a reason.

If we had two separate battle ground queues. Gear based and scaled. I wonder which people would play more? It’s an mmo. They should give us game mode options tbh. I feel rated should only have ilvl advantages tbh. But I wish wow devs would add a scaled pvp mode.

There were no gear advantages to being a gladiator vs. an unrated player in MoP and WoD and participation was fine. Random PvP participation was also stellar in Legion where gear didn’t really matter at all. Even rated PvP participation ended up close to WoD by the final season. Your claims are unfounded and seem to be based in your own opinion rather than what has historically happened when there aren’t massive gear advantages.

They already do. It’s called rated and unrated.

Just remove the 197 cap for unrated. Make rated BGs receive more honor and conquest than unrated. Players in unrated can still get the gear, they just have to grind harder for it.

What would be the problem with that scenario?

Nope. They are both based on ilvl. Except the best gear drops in rated. So you either do rated or you get stomped. The casual bgs are basically a noob stomping ground right now.

Random BG’s are for gearing basics. If you have more than basics you should be playing rated.

Lol the irony of this… Almost as if there’s incentive for pvpers to climb without gear advantages. Like simply improving your skill and rating. Maybe some cosmetics. Like literally every other PvP game in the world that’s more popular than wow lol

Exactly. The only people who have fun right now are the ones in 226 gear. I tried to play a game on my 200 affliction warlock yesterday and this 46k shaman would drop me in seconds by their 10k earth shocks.

I myself blow people up on this 207 ret already, can’t imagine what 226 ret feels like.

This happened in MoP as well, but it was a very fast grind to get a set of honor gear that would put you within 13 item levels of BiS. WoD just blatantly scaled quest greens up. Why can’t they do the same now, I can’t understand.
