If it was then all the high geared players would never be in random BGs whatsoever, 100%, which means this thread would have never existed
Because by that logic every single arena player/rated BG player would ever touch random BGs
I have no clue as to what you are talking about. I dont think you even know… I am 226 and I play randoms all the time. In fact, I hated rateds, I only got to 2100 or 2200 to get gear for high level RBGs that I never played because… Well, I dont have the time to wait 2 hours to get one going and as soon as you start losing everyone quits… Its a weird thing with this game.
i’m sure there are some, i’ve seen them too, but there’s not as many as casual players, or people making alts to play.
so by not scaling gear blizzard is pandering to the more elite players while leaving everyone else in the dust, and eventually no ones going to play except the elite players. arena is already like that, its mostly glad alts etc
No the root of the problem is people thinking they should have the same gear as people who put the time and effort in for free.
This is an mmo rpg. There’s gear progression. People who put effort in should not be penalized because people that don’t put effort don’t like getting beat.
Even in first person shooters the players that play more have an advantage.
Then those people are playing the wrong game. You use random BGs to get your full honor gear to 197. Then you go get conquest gear and upgrade it. You have to slog through the BS like everyone else.
They tried scaling for two expansions and it didn’t work
No one is left in the dust, pick yourself up and start getting the gear
I did already, I got to 210 in january and quit because I was bored.
If i ever come back to retail it’s if they make the pvp system better it doesn’t even have to be gear scaling.Maybe an mmr system. a lot of people

Classic pvp isn’t perfect either, probably because the game wasn’t really originally meant to be a pvp game.

Gear or not, this season went on too long. And it definitely went on too long without a balance update.
Please tell me how people on overwatch get a gear advantage. I’d love to hear it. League used to have one and they saw how bad it is for competition and ditched it.
This isn’t about not having a grind. This about rating locked gear and geared people playing content that they don’t need to and making it so others don’t have fun.
Exactly. So again why are overgeared people being let into random BG’s where people are there to get gear? You should be off doing rated for conquest gear once you have full honor gear.

your point only makes sense if OP was trying to get this passed into rated. Unrated should be fun, and i kinda agree that letting uber geared people, pvp gear or not roflstomp the casuals in unrated content is silly.
mmr would probably be the perfect solution.

I agree. There should be character progression. But 197 to 226 is not reasonable, for pve or pvp. 200 ilvl should be lfr/ honor gear. Normal/ unranked should be 207. Heroic/ 1600 should be 213. Mythic/ 2k should be 220.
If they want to add a bit of progression in-between each tier for a reasonable cost, that is fine.

It really doesn’t matter anyway, any of this, PVP is so broken balance wise that it doesn’t matter at this point. They need to overhaul so many classes. I mean Pallys are just comically broken and I have never seen a broken class like this go on so long without a fix.
