18 gilded crest a week from Delves. Big pass

People should realize faux is trolling you all for the most part.

That said, with 11.1 there will be a new raid with new gear and a new tier of loot ilvls and new crests to grind for season 2, correct? But this makes it seem like delves are going to still be grinding for Season 1 gilded crests and season 1 gear?

So M+ and Raiders are moving on to an entirely new plateau of gear while delve players will keep grinding out the current gear? I think the incentive to run group content in 11.1 will be fine if delves get a pittance of gilded crests.

What?

That is not what is meant at all.

Okay so how does that work then? They keep using the same crests from season 1 to upgrade season 2 gear? Iā€™m confused what the problem is here with giving delves S1 gilded crests once S2 starts.

butā€¦butā€¦butā€¦ they have feelings that compel them to do stuff and ā€¦feelings force them ā€¦deterministicallyā€¦ :eyes:

Gilded refers to the new top end crest in S2.

Huh, well I thought they would have a new name. Instead of weathered, carved, runed, gilded they would have all new S2 Undermine names.

So should I assume delves also will be giving out a whole new tier of gear then along with M+ and raids?

S1 has Gilded Harbinger Crests. S2 has Gilded Undermine Crests. The middle name changes each season.

Yes, they move up the ilvl for delves too.

Itā€™ll all be S2 stuff. Your current crests will be removed, as will your current delve keys, and the ilvl rewards for everything will go up by 39. Awarding new types of crests and new keys.

The first part of the name denotes the rarity, the second is the patch. We had different rarity names in DF (Whelp, Drake, Wyrm, Aspect) but they were still consistent patch to patch.

Okay, that seems a little off to me then too. lol Not sure how I feel about that. I suppose I assumed current delve gear was good enough. It depends on how they move into 11.5 that solo players will need a higher ilvl just to do solo content? Meh, that is kind of lame actually.

I was rather looking forward to capping out some of my characters at the 619 lvl and moving on to some other alts. Not really all that excited about having to grind them to a new cap.

I didnā€™t play DF so the crests are a new thing to me. The part that I was missing was that delves were going to advance to the new ilvl gear as well.

Why do you even need gear if you despise content?

619 in s2 will be very easy to reach.

Well yeah that is the point, 619 wonā€™t be the cap anymore. It will be 6XX, whatever the new delve gear cap will be. Thinking about it now, I suppose it makes sense if they want delves to be its own progression path.

Nobody is forced into anything in their free time. IDK if you are a gold seller or just a rando player like myself trying to improve the game. We have differing opinions dude, but you just have to admit you are waaaaay off the reservation a bit too often. Blizz is trying to get players to do +11ā€™s, ya know, do stuff they spent a lot of time coding and whatnot. Why should blizz bother coding and tuning +11ā€™s if nobody is doing them, why should they exist? Folk in your position are dodging the hard questions. If people feel that delves shouldnā€™t exist, fair enough, but you have to be honest in your arguments or nobody is going to take you seriously.

If Blizzard wanted people to do 11s, they wouldā€™ve put rewards in them the first time around. They exist solely for challenge.

Just likeā€¦ every m+ key level above 10.

You are not being honest.

Give delvers gilded, let me get something beyond mythic in mythic plus.

Elevate raid to a new shiny thing. Ulgrax loot being the same ilvl as Ansurek is a joke.

Then you nerf delves by buffing everything else.

Thatā€™s fine. If they want to give m+ and raiders some new shiny to chase and they want that then great. Have fun.

I hadnā€™t really thought about it before but now that I have delves just being a way to put solo players on a gear treadmill makes sense from Blizzā€™s perspective. Not something I was really looking for and Iā€™ll probably have to drop the idea of playing anymore alts which is kind of a bummer.

World quests in the past also evolved with seasons. Itā€™s not anything new.

It is a whole new level of time commitment. The rewards are better but it also require a lot more commitment of time from solo and/or casual players. I already donā€™t do 8 delves a week, and just do 4. Adding more alts to that rotation just isnā€™t feasible.

Stop playing for gear and youā€™ll enjoy WOW a lot more.

The great thing about Delves is that it gives you something else to do in the endgame and even while leveling.

  • Raiding has been around for 20 years
  • Mythic Plus has been around since 2016, so 8 years. And dungeons were always in the game prior to that.
  • Now we have Delves as another option at least for the first time in the games history

That new form of endgame is meant to be more casual World Tier and not as a primary source of the best upgrades in the game.

You have to play for gear to some extent. Even if Iā€™m just doing solo content when 11.5 rolls around it will be expecting you to have acquired a certain level of gear. Which will be the 11.1 delve gear as a baseline. Rolling into 11.5 at 580 will probably be a little painful.
