No, I want professions to be strong to enhance existing classes. So people can make choices on which direction they go, no matter what class they take.
Laws strictly state you must be 21 years or older to tinker.
Professions are not like that anymore, specifically because they were overbearing.
With a tinker class you know Blizzard would take the opportunity to make Engineering even more useless. At this point have they made professions so useless that now we need to replace them with actual classes?
Will we have a Tailor class now? How about that heroic class, the Miner?
No class really fits gnomes or goblins. Every race has a class that fits them. Tinkers are long overdue.
As for tinker being engineering as people are fond of trying to use as a counter.
Engineers make technology. Tinkers use it.
Engineers are like mechanics. Tinkers are like pilots.
They’re not mutually exclusive either. You can have a tinker that also makes the tech they use. Just like a pilot could be a mechanic.
Philosophy changes every time the dev team changes. It’s possible the golden age of professions could return and engineering be great again. However if you add tinkers this possibilty is gone forever.
I think Engineering could be boosted by having another class to create items for. Think of all the new guns, Mech equipment, weapon upgrades and possible cosmetics that can be added. Some Engineering things should be bind on pickup, to incentivize Tinkers to get Engineering.
No, I suggest you make them better along side Tinkers. Please see above.
Engineers should focus on utilities and guns.
Tinkers should be a class.
Yeah… I’m not about to prevent my favorite class from being added on a “Possibility that blizzard will change to their old ways”
Just go play Vanilla.
Vanilla dont get new content, how about you go play the RTS instead.
Skinning used to give you Crit.
Engineering bombs used to matter for DPS
Mining used to give you stamina.
these are gone for a good reason.
People shouldn’t feel shoehorned into a profession.
I do.
I suck at it. but I do.
Face it, it’s just a silly idea. We should improve Engineering instead of shoehorning in new classes that will end up mimicking existing ones.
I disagree. I think every choice about your character should matter.
Not really.
I think it’s a great idea.
Or we should make Engineering unique.
And we should make Tinkers their own class.
Tinkers don’t conflict with any existing class. I don’t see that at all.
Exactly. Every choice you make should matter.
If one profession starts providing too much. There’s no longer a choice.
The only way to make a Tinker class is to steal from Engineering and nerf it further. No thanks.
Nobody wants the next class to be literal garbage.
What in exact specificity would Engineer lose?
Jeeves?
Blingtron?
Transmog stations?
Mount equipment?
professions having no power makes them not matter.
But that’s the thing about Tinker, it is silly. But it’s also very established in WoW. Btw, I don’t disagree with you on improving Engineering. I just see how they can both exist while also helping Engineering become more relevant with more things to craft and sell.
Nothing. Engineering didn’t lose gliders when Demon Hunters were added. Blizzard didn’t realize they made a mistake adding Globlin Rocket Boots because rogues had Sprint. Engineering need lose nothing to add Tinkers.
professions having no power makes them not matter.
The professions do have power.
Every profession provides something of use to your guild and friends.
Engineering, admittedly is very weak.
However. I suggest that you make engineering stronger by adding Tinkers.
If they use guns, then they could use scopes and add ons.
Make engineering focus on guns, scopes, and add ons, and keep their utilities like Repair bots. Transmog, and Blingtron.
Voila. Engineering now has useful items for 2 classes. Doesn’t compete with enchanting, and has utilities.
